Just built my son something similar. Pheneom II x4 955 Black Edition 3.2Mhz , Asus M4A89GTD PRO, 2 X HIS IceQ5 HD5770's, Coolermaster V8, Coolermaster Storm Scout chassis, 4GB Corsair 1333Mhz RAM, Antec- 650W PSU. I scored some good dad brownie points with him as he went mental when he saw it LOL

a black edition cpu has a unlocked multiplier, which basically means you can overclock much easier, with out worrying about changing the fsb and potentially frying your processor.

Good choice switching from 2x 4890 to 5870.

About your processor, I do believe you mean Ghz, not Mhz, otherwise we would be back in the 80's.

And another question is, why don't you use RAID-0 instead of 3 seperate HD's? Just get the seagate 150GB and the excelsior 250GB out, and buy a second WD 500GB SATA 2, and put them in RAID-0! Very nice!

Just recently Updated/Changed, My System.

I dropped the clock speed from 3.8Mhz down to 3.6Mhz.I now have no green led fans in the case apart from the one on the front.

I have a Corsair Dominator Airflow fan on the Rams.Sold My 4890`s and have a single ATI 5870 Vapor-x (Rev.2).

Also got rid of the honeycomb mesh on the rear of case/top of case, (Has improved Airflow Substantially)

@mocca0591 . You can go with the Intel-i7 build, but it`ll cost you a lot more money. don't get me wrong Intel are good, but I think AMD offer better value for money, and you wont be disappointed. This build cost me about £1200 including the ASUS monitor,. I would defo go for the Vapor-X range as It runs quieter, cooler , faster, than the stock versions. paying that little bit more will get you a lot better product.

I wasn't stating that it was a car. It was a simple comparison. Its true that you didn't have to put nvidia cards in it. The goal, at least what I believe, was that cooler master intended this case to be for nvidia fanboys. When I saw those radeons inside, it stood out as "out of place". Another thing that was "out of place" was the green, blue, and red theme you got going on there.

The same set-up with a single 5870 would probably be more effecient, quiet, cool and if I'm not wrong the same fast (if not even faster if you consider the X-fire mess)... This "nVidia-case" for an AMD-ATI build is not relevant, only the fan-colours differenciate from one another. I like the full-pack Corsair RAM.

The 2x 4890`s are worth £170 each, and you cant even buy them anymore, they were limited edition. add together all the other components and it come come to a little bit more than a measly 600 dollars, that's like 375 pounds, I don't think your information is correct!.

If Your Gonna Run One Or Two Toxic 4890`s You Must Invest In A Decent PSU, And Dont Go Budget On One. I Have A 1000w Be Quiet Dark Power Pro PSU And It Is Perfect. Not completely but I haven't seen a video of a 3000 series card mixed with a 4k series card. Radeon is going to manufacture a 5870X2 you could afford one if you sell your original 4890 and add the price of 5880. Also did you have your 4890 overclocked. If so what were you running it at?

Yes, I did oc it a bit just bumped up the mem clock from 1050 to 1100Mhz, but didnt wanna push it cause its factory oc. Tried to get the ATOMIC version previous but could not get it for love nor money.
