@archaeolas That was actually the technique I was talking about in the vid lol - hopefully I won't balls it up with the skin tones - I think I'll probably use white instead of bleached bone, because with a lot of models I find they are a bit more defined with a wash of gryphonne sepia, which would obviously dull down the craziness of the whites lol :D.
@archaeolas Because of the neutral tone of gryphonne sepia, it can be applied to any colour as a wash (and kommando khaki, for the same reason, can be a highlight for any colour) and with this model I'm working on I found that a couple of thin washes made the skin come to life before my eyes, all chalkiness banished. I'm gonna shade the rest of the model with it too ^^. That's not to say I'll stop using ogryn flesh, it's nice to change up colours and get different skin tones ^^.
@realitybytes16 i may invest in a pot of it when the opportunity comes up then. bit late to put it on my christmas list, maybe i'll write to the easter bunny instead of santa, see what he can do! ...or she ...whichever!
Here's hoping there is improved health among your loved ones very soon and better times in the new year....you are not alone in the winter blues and blahs...when you have time to post, I will be around to take a look what you are woriking on...keep the family in priority...all other stuff will finally fall into place....cheers....Jim.
@Jedijim252 Thank you mate, I'll do my best to get some more stuff up soon :). Oh and by the way, I just realised that although I've seen a lot of you on comment sections, I'd never actually subbed - just fixed that lol ^^.
@RedSteelOlton Thanks dude, I'm doing my best :) I must be doing ok with it since my boss has been telling me I'm surprisingly chipper for someone whose mood is affected by the seasons lol. I just gotta get my motivation up for some painting! :D
try doing the eyes first mate, then you just need to be a bit careful with the skin tones and any washes you use on the face after.
hope the family stuff gets resolved in time for christmas dinner!

@realitybytes16 how does the gryphone sepia compare to the ogryn flesh wash?
for skin i generally use dwarf flesh, elf flesh and bleached bone for the extreme highlights, and ogryn flesh seems to tie it all together nicely.
