Scorpion I can understand that me and you have never been ko. But there is certainly plenty of people who can. Just gotta be unlucky and not find that person
uhhm.. however, I can't understand how this guys are made knock out so easily... I've never been made knock out even if I losed matches... in fact, no one could put me at the ground from a kick. it's impossible! ;) I'm too stiff on the legs! hoho
blocking is good defense. but avoiding is better defense. you can avoid any punch and any kick by moving your step and moving your upper body. if you can not avoid, then you can block with your arms. automatically blocking with hands up all the time can be dangerous habit because your arms can not block knives used by bad guys.
@spiritofmuye Agreed. It's better to parry-counter or dodge a kick generally. Perfectly executed kicks are horrendously powerful no matter the size of the fighter.
all martial arts are good. but there is better martial arts. taekwondo best kick. boxing best punch. judo best throw. jujitsu best ground. taekwondo is famous for spinning kick. there are many spinning kick, spinning hook[spinning heel], back[spinning back], tornado, tornado ax, flying spinning hook etc. flying spinning hook is killing kick. many have already left for sky by flying spinning hook to face.
just because they throw spin kicks doesen't mean they cant't keep their hands up! they just haven't praticed that way. its reckless however because you see the end results that spin kick or hook kicks are nasty and wicked fast.
@santiago9981 maybe they can practice kicking with hands up. but their kick will be weaker and slower with hands up. most kickboxers and muaythai kickboxers kick with hands down because they want stronger and faster kick.
@spiritofmuye good point! iv been with with those kicks before and it taught me to keep my hands up and you can tell at tournaments it bugs the guys because they can't get me with them but at the same time if you pratice the kicks with your hands up they get just as strong as if you had them at your side.
@jokerface they are allowed to block face. but they can not block face because their hands are down naturally when they kick because of balance. that is why they are koed by counter spinning kick.
@jokerface they are, but it's easier to keep balance when kicking with your hands low and straight arms. Besides some professionals are confident that they will be hit less in the head so they prefer to block some impact at the hips and ribs ( as it is more common to get kicked there).
One of my buddy is a black belt taekwondo just like as we see in this vid. He was sparring with another taekwondo guy and got kick in the face and had a broken jaw like 2months ago because the other dude said to stop and rest for a bit. He was like, okay... he was about to turn around and grab his water bottle and the dude kicked him in the face. DONT TALK TO PPL WITH SHORT TEMPER!!!! THEY DO ANYTHING TO GET U BACK!!!
when you kick, your hands are down naturally. that's why they were koed by counter attack. most kos came from counter attack in tkd. anderson silva and jon jones are best strikers in world. they dislike the hands up. but they have good defense. why? they keep distance with moving step or moving upper body. so they can avoid any kick and any punch. blocking with hands up is not necessary.
@mukh1414 No not really its because the person doing the knockout is pressuring the other person into something they feel they have to do and not something they want to do also known as creating an opening or making your oppent make a mistake so they walk on to your kick
why they don't have guards ? i mean they got kicked in the side of the face just because they're not keeping their hands up in a guard position... that's stupid.
@rapandthekillers many kos came from counter attack not only in taekwondo sparring but also in kickboxing and mma. when you punch, your hands are off guard. and when you kick, your hands are down naturally. that's why many kos came from counter attack.
Its definitely acrobatic, takes a lot of skill, entertaining & would work on the street if your first strike was clean to the head on a one on one - after that you'd want more in your arsenal than just feet.
@the26thhour that is true however you are applying the sport side to a real life situation this is not something we would use in the streets we also have a self defense and a more formal side that is what we would use on streets
@KJEWLE I hav a mate who studies a traditional form & being a very nice guy, thugs mistake that as weakness. When they try him,he likes to catch hold of their arm when they try to hit him & kick them in the head from side to side with one foot, all in a matter of seconds, till they drop. Or kick them once & then use them as leverage to kick the next attacker very, very hard & then come back to them.
He did that to Gary Ablett Jnr & his mates on the beach before Ablett joined the AFL
@KJEWLE oh ok i though you were one of the people with no intellegence what so ever but you have proved me wrong and my personal opionion is that a person who chooses to take on the traditional side as well as or over the sport side i see as being more powerful as the traditional side is not every ones cup of tea
@lonestarboy31 Muay Thai is a Martial art from Thailand that it's renown for it's strong kicks, elbows, knees, and punches. It's a little more street-useful than TKD (not that I'm against tkd seeing as how I train tkd) as it incorporates a lot of kickboxing and regular boxing.
i think that tkd is awesome but if someone wants to be an all around better fighter i would advise them to learn some more arts. judo- throws and takedowns, bjj for ground, and learn some boxing to teach better movement and protection of the head
tkd basically consists of pattern, olympic sparring and hosinsul. each school has different emphasis. schools which focus on hosinsul will teach you many techniques for real fight. mma is nearest style to real fight. but mma is still far away from real fight. when your chin is hit, you can be koed but will wake after a few seconds. but when your neck is hit, you will live on wheelchair for your whole life.
Tkd can be an excellent base art, Jon "Bones" Jones is a Tkd stylist. But using the fighting style shown her is not how you win a fight. I disagree with tournament Tkd because it reinforces the dropping of a fighters hands. As a karate stylist I know I can take kicks and punches to the body a lot more than to my head and that something Tkd needs to instill in its fighters
mma is limited sports with rules. taekwondo teaches kicking after takedown in hosinsul section. kicking face against floor after takedown can break skull. this kick is banned in mma.
Noticed how KO's happen in TKD,is due to the guys not keeping their hands up. Simple rule in fighting is to NEVER drop your hands or you'll get KTFO.That's probably why TKD guys usually(not always) get KO'd by boxers, Muay Thai guys. Also, do they not teach takedown defense in TKD, like sprawl?I swear I've only been wrestling for one year and I takedown TKD blackbelts like nothing. TKD is only good as a supplementary art, if you already mastered wrestling or boxing. Not a good base martial art.
finishing a fight with one kick is possible. someone breaks 2 boards but other breaks more than 10 boards. you should understand difference of power of breaking. you can break ribs with one kick. humans are not hitting bags you can hit anytime. way to hit target is counter attack and sudden attack. without good defense, you cannot be a good fighter. you can defend takedown and strike by moving your step as avoiding. clinching and blocking also can be used for defense.
This is stupid. Kicks > Punches and vice versa in real fights. Kicks are deadly as fuck. TaeKwondo specializes in fast instant kicks. Their speed is really fast. You don't only kick them in the head, but you also perform low kicks and high kicks.
I can fuck up a guy in a single kick. I 95% of the time initiate fights with kicks and end up using more punches later on but kicks are fucking amazing if you have the speed.
illyas1 is right all taekwondo guy have their hands way to low a skilled boxer/kickboxer/ mixed martial artist would just step into the kick and land punches, elbows or knees and spinning kicks can work (rarely) as a mixed martial artist i seriously doubt only kicks can make or brake a fight kicks could easy be taken away by takedowns were taekwondo would have literally no advantage
@David67369 Wrong. Real traditional TaeKwonDo uses Elbows, Punches, and Knees. Know your facts before stating ignorant MMA pride facts. That's like saying boxer/kickboxer/mma can destroy a Muay Thai Fighter.
@illyas1 also, i truelly know that there's nothing i can say to change your mind. Nothing would change my mind either, until i actually saw. Somethings cannot be described or explained, they can only be experienced. trust me on this one. You should watch the ip man movie, and let me tell you that ip man 1 is at least 90% realistic. I've seen kung fu fights, and they are even flashier than movies, quicker and deadlier. In wing chun you have to wear a full plate to fight :P
@DioIsTheBest a movie? are u serious?how can that be taken seriously?your argument is the same as someone saying how deadly the 900 degree tkd kick is,when in actuallity there is no way in hell you are getting that off in the heat of combat, unless your opponent is doing flashy tdk as well ^^
@illyas1 AS I SAID before, i know i can't say anything to change your mind, since some things cannot be explained, and can only be experienced. And i'm telling you that i had experiences way better than that of a movie. You can either believe that or not..or you can go and try it out for yourself. It doesn't matter what we believe i'll walk my path in the martial arts, and you should walk yours. Whoever of us is wrong, will know it sooner or later :)
hello fellow martial artists. my friend has made a facebook page called "Martial art skill wins the fight, not the style". feel free to visit the page and share some ideas, beliefs, subjects etc. if you plan on posting on the page please be mature and respectful. no one wants to read a childish cursing rant. if you would like to see right now, type facebook.com, copy and paste this afterwards
youre all full of shit!! the smartest best trained person wins in reality!!does not matter what sissy style or what you see on tv or sissy tube its a real world the only pay off is education experience dedication to both... by the way how many times have anybody thats bla bla woof woofing here been in a real life or death serious street fight???? get real go to college train hard that means every day for at least 25 years get an masters or higher degree then take to the streets!!!!
fucking AMAZING VIDEO it give me strength to keep up more THE TKD 14 years with it and i steel love it :)) FUCK ANYONE WHO SAY ANYTHINK ABOUT TKD... TKD THE BEST !! IF YOU DONT DO SOMETHINK DONT GET AN OPINION ABOUT IT!!
i don't see the point of training in one single martial art none are complete you need to mix them to have an all round fighting game for example i train in taekwondo and muay thai, taekwondo for speed, balance and timing and muay thai for power and hand techniques and thats why alot of mma fighters who have trained for lets say 1 year are going to beat the shit out of someone who has just trained in one martial art such as karate, taekwondo or judo
if you are major in Taekeondo ??? Where you going to find a job?? Unless you open up school somewhere. Most school pay you $10-20. People don't need taekwondoMasters. If you are not smart you will work for TKD schools
All you gangsters on youtube, just do the martial art of ur choice. I'm doing muay thai, a really beautiful martial art, as I used to think taekwondo and Wushu were aswell!
@imCOOLson BJJ sux. u do not have to be a black belt in BJJ to be good at it. its simple stuff. TKD is really really hard to get good at. its the 100% clear cut better martial art
I dont see why your all discussing what martial art is the most effective becuase its all ready been done henes why the UFC was invented to see which is the best n Brazilian Jujitzu is ..... It beat everything els e.g.Muay Thai, Judo, Karate .......
wtf are you talking about, firstly a well trained karataka could easily hammer anyone with brazilian jujitzu. i don't know about judo, but probably, and a strickly muay thai guy would most likely beat brazilian jujitzu
@txway0 better in terms of what? they both are completely different from each other. There is no which is better. Think of it as like base ball and basket ball. you cant just say which is better. or are you talking in terms of making them compete in some sport? If so, whichever the rule favors is gonna be better.
@RespectHipHop1990 no TKD academy/school will let you into sparring in 3 months. If they did, they're not an official TKD academy/school and you've learned it from wrong place. You need to learn TKD minimum of 5-6 months to get into sparing according to traditional ITF. Because that's what I've been through.
there are 3 ways of defense for striking. avoiding with moving step, blocking with hands up and clinching. always avoiding is first. making your step back and your upper body forward will be good defense for takedown. jujitsu is best ground martial arts. but if you have good takedown defense, jujitsu is nothing. but if you know both striking and grappling, you can be better fighter. that is why taekwondo teach both striking and grappling in hosinsul section.
just wait and see... tkd will have a big comeback! Jon Jones from UFC has startet training in tkd and will probely start using the kicks in his fights
Everyone of these knockouts could have been made much more difficult to accomplish if the fighters would just keep their hands up and protect their head.
Martial Arts is not limited to a style. It is how one fits that style to their personal configuration. When one fights, they (or at least I) use combos made and created by myself, that incoorperate techniques they have learned.
Man, I use to train in Muay Thai, but man is that shit useless in a real fight, they swing their kicks out which isn't really smart and use full, once your commented to the kick your screwed cause it leaves yourself open to get knocked out. Taekwondo is more useful in a real fight, real taekwondo, not the shit you see in tournaments, IN taekwondo you punch to the face and kick everywhere, knee's stomach, face, plus all those different kicks and strikes makes Taeknowdo deadly.
I love how this guy tells us how to download the song in the description.
No one wants this shitty fucking song. In fact...I would be willing to bet that most people agree with me and wish this band had never even existed. They are responsible for ruining thousands of youtube videos.
@neksr9 Ask an kickboxer this. The hands drop to give a kick more power. In some Taekwondo sports, strikes with the legs earn more points than strikes with the hands. But in real taekwondo gyms, the high guard is the first thing you learn and its the most important because your vision is the most important of your sense in a battle.
@hazza3 l am kikcboxer but we never put our hand down.if you kick with leg you put only one hand down and the second is on your hand to defense of counter atack.
@neksr9 I've watched lots of Kickboxers and even MMA fighters drop their hands to kick. Im teaching Muay Thai and in my time of training I've noticed that we drop our hands all the time. Mostly for that right rotation to get in a strong kick.
@ChummyChime Kickbxoers, MMA Muay Thai, they all drop their hands eventually. In Taekwondo, they mostly do it to bring the opponent closer. Watch Anderson Silva do the same, even use the same blocks.
Yeah, we drop one hand to throw a kick, but its still dropping the hands. Taekwondo fighters in WTF, PRO and other sports do the same, but WTF do it with both hands.
that dropping of both hands is to relax and to take a deep breath, but look at TKD, the hands are down all the time.
I used to train in TKD then I moved to Muay Thai.
The TKD has a lot of kicks but most are useless, in real fight, your opponent may not let you stand up, you'll get either pounded, kicked, submitted and broke every joints you have on the ground.
ah 2005.. the technique of fallen back spin kick or jump spin kick at those day still can get point, but nowadays no point and a penalty given..lol

finishing a fight with one kick is possible. someone breaks 2 boards but other breaks more than 10 boards. you should understand difference of power of breaking. you can break ribs with one kick. humans are not hitting bags you can hit anytime. way to hit target is counter attack and sudden attack. without good defense, you cannot be a good fighter. you can defend takedown and strike by moving your step as avoiding. clinching and blocking also can be used for defense.

I 95% of the time initiate fights with kicks and end up using more punches later on but kicks are fucking amazing if you have the speed.

tards..mma is mix martial art..wich you can use taekwondo in it..check out andre lima..he is one of the best mma fighter he uses taekwondo/bjj
R3dTigerM40A3 3 months ago 12
illyas1 is right all taekwondo guy have their hands way to low a skilled boxer/kickboxer/ mixed martial artist would just step into the kick and land punches, elbows or knees and spinning kicks can work (rarely) as a mixed martial artist i seriously doubt only kicks can make or brake a fight kicks could easy be taken away by takedowns were taekwondo would have literally no advantage
David67369 3 months ago
@David67369 Kicks can make or break a fight easily depending on the fighter, a good TKD fighter should be able to end a fight in 1 kick.
RoundOrangeBox 3 months ago

DioIsTheBest 3 months ago
@DioIsTheBest a movie? are u serious?how can that be taken seriously?your argument is the same as someone saying how deadly the 900 degree tkd kick is,when in actuallity there is no way in hell you are getting that off in the heat of combat, unless your opponent is doing flashy tdk as well ^^
illyas1 3 months ago
@illyas1 AS I SAID before, i know i can't say anything to change your mind, since some things cannot be explained, and can only be experienced. And i'm telling you that i had experiences way better than that of a movie. You can either believe that or not..or you can go and try it out for yourself. It doesn't matter what we believe i'll walk my path in the martial arts, and you should walk yours. Whoever of us is wrong, will know it sooner or later :)

psybaninja 3 months ago
i don't see the point of training in one single martial art none are complete you need to mix them to have an all round fighting game for example i train in taekwondo and muay thai, taekwondo for speed, balance and timing and muay thai for power and hand techniques and thats why alot of mma fighters who have trained for lets say 1 year are going to beat the shit out of someone who has just trained in one martial art such as karate, taekwondo or judo

Taekwondo the best!
JoseBritez012 3 months ago
I dont see why your all discussing what martial art is the most effective becuase its all ready been done henes why the UFC was invented to see which is the best n Brazilian Jujitzu is ..... It beat everything els e.g.Muay Thai, Judo, Karate .......
SeanAlanErrockUK91 3 months ago
@SeanAlanErrockUK91
wtf are you talking about, firstly a well trained karataka could easily hammer anyone with brazilian jujitzu. i don't know about judo, but probably, and a strickly muay thai guy would most likely beat brazilian jujitzu
Mikkael365 3 months ago
i agree that tkd is not the most effective martial art but im not choosing it to bust some heads, i just think its really cool
dadamager3000 3 months ago
@txway0 better in terms of what? they both are completely different from each other. There is no which is better. Think of it as like base ball and basket ball. you cant just say which is better. or are you talking in terms of making them compete in some sport? If so, whichever the rule favors is gonna be better.

i practiced taekwondo for 3 months ... but i gave up cuz my face got fucked up after all those kicks in my face :-s
RespectHipHop1990 4 months ago
@RespectHipHop1990 no TKD academy/school will let you into sparring in 3 months. If they did, they're not an official TKD academy/school and you've learned it from wrong place. You need to learn TKD minimum of 5-6 months to get into sparing according to traditional ITF. Because that's what I've been through.
sshokoki 3 months ago
@sshokoki
wtf happened to normal dojos, who let everybody spar, regardless of skill.
Mikkael365 3 months ago
there are 3 ways of defense for striking. avoiding with moving step, blocking with hands up and clinching. always avoiding is first. making your step back and your upper body forward will be good defense for takedown. jujitsu is best ground martial arts. but if you have good takedown defense, jujitsu is nothing. but if you know both striking and grappling, you can be better fighter. that is why taekwondo teach both striking and grappling in hosinsul section.

Taekwondo is more useful in a real fight, real taekwondo, not the shit you see in tournaments, IN taekwondo you punch to the face and kick everywhere, knee's stomach, face, plus all those different kicks and strikes makes Taeknowdo deadly.

l dont understand why their hands are down their legs are good but for atrue marital artist you must use hands to atack or defend...
neksr9 4 months ago
@neksr9 Ask an kickboxer this. The hands drop to give a kick more power. In some Taekwondo sports, strikes with the legs earn more points than strikes with the hands. But in real taekwondo gyms, the high guard is the first thing you learn and its the most important because your vision is the most important of your sense in a battle.
hazza3 4 months ago 2
@hazza3 l am kikcboxer but we never put our hand down.if you kick with leg you put only one hand down and the second is on your hand to defense of counter atack.
neksr9 4 months ago
@neksr9 I've watched lots of Kickboxers and even MMA fighters drop their hands to kick. Im teaching Muay Thai and in my time of training I've noticed that we drop our hands all the time. Mostly for that right rotation to get in a strong kick.
hazza3 4 months ago
@hazza3
I train in Muay Thai too and I agree with nesr9, we only drop one hand. MMA is different, because MMA is mixed martial arts.
Fighters drop their hands to defend from enemies take downs so they can sprawl easily.
ChummyChime 4 months ago
@ChummyChime Kickbxoers, MMA Muay Thai, they all drop their hands eventually. In Taekwondo, they mostly do it to bring the opponent closer. Watch Anderson Silva do the same, even use the same blocks.
Yeah, we drop one hand to throw a kick, but its still dropping the hands. Taekwondo fighters in WTF, PRO and other sports do the same, but WTF do it with both hands.
In Real TKD, you're not allowed to do it.
hazza3 4 months ago
@hazza3
that dropping of both hands is to relax and to take a deep breath, but look at TKD, the hands are down all the time.
I used to train in TKD then I moved to Muay Thai.
The TKD has a lot of kicks but most are useless, in real fight, your opponent may not let you stand up, you'll get either pounded, kicked, submitted and broke every joints you have on the ground.
ChummyChime 4 months ago
@ChummyChime In Taekwondo, our hands aren't ALWAYS down. When I was in Rhee, we weren't ever allowed to drop them below our cheeks.
There is a difference between sport and self defense. There are more than one type of Taekwondo.
I've used a lot of kicks from Taekwondo for real and ring fights since I moved to Muay Thai. It wasn't a choice, I just wanted to train in something.
