  • Eric Marienthal.. my hero on any sax.. never heard him on bari but I bet it would be a huge fat sound to die for..

  • 5:40 - 5:44, amazing

  • abe laborial on bass?

  • Just enjoy and be witness to the best that we have..it's not a contest...(I prefer the Grusin atmosphere...but I'm old)....it's free playing man, all the guy's are blowing...the only losers here are the ones too up their asses to get the new wave.

  • 1995 seems like so long ago when I watch this.

  • R.I.P. to "Father Time", Art Rodriguez, October 1, 2009. A great musician and all around great guy who taught my son how to play drums. He will be missed..

  • Listen guys,

If a musician can play with CHICK COREA like MR. Eric Marienthal than YOUR A BIG LEAGER......

Think about that ...... and I rest my case!

  • Eric's solo is just amazing, and don't even get me started about his tone. Definitely my idol for the tenor sax.

  • you don't know anything about jazz bro

  • Okay well you do realize that everyone is different right? Everyone has different taste and what they want to sound like on their instrument. But you can't say that i am wrong and he isn't great because it is all opinionated.

  • if he's not great he wouldn't be a professor.

besides, not great musicians are still musicians.

  • his alto playing is just as amazing! hes my sax idol period!

  • Actually he is more of an alto player, he's sound is way better in the alto

  • He has a unique sound altogether. That is why i like him, not to mention his killer licks. but anyways, i know he mostly plays the alto. Im surprised there are even videos of him playing tenor. Its a very rare thing to see and hear.

  • his soprano sound is kinda odd...

  • you mean tenor?

  • no i mean his soprano

his tenor and alto sound are both badass

  • Ya i would have to agree with you, it is kind of different. But i listen to his sound on all of the saxophones, not really the typical sound. Its unique, which is the amazing thing about the saxophone. No one has the same sound/tone

  • he is indeed the best ty so is larry carlton!!

  • People should listen to more music like this. Lee Ritenour ROCKS!

  • You got that right

  • I Love Lee Ritenour

    He's my GOD!!!

  • no hes my god

  • magnifica interpretaciòn de ritenour. del cd homenage a wes.

  • Great Lee!!

    i love this piece!!

    the fantastic strings accords....:=)

  • Big Erich: Master of overtones!!!

Incredible ease and very light for Erich to play in overtone range... A very good lesson (live) for sax players!!!

Many thanks, ellmaggie, for posting (and congratulation for yours videos).

    Max

  • I totaly agree,i saw him live,it was incredible ,but i think he's even better on his alto

  • it doesn't matter what sax he is playing, he will still show you what he's got and more no matter what, and that's a guarantee.
