Okay well you do realize that everyone is different right? Everyone has different taste and what they want to sound like on their instrument. But you can't say that i am wrong and he isn't great because it is all opinionated.
He has a unique sound altogether. That is why i like him, not to mention his killer licks. but anyways, i know he mostly plays the alto. Im surprised there are even videos of him playing tenor. Its a very rare thing to see and hear.
Ya i would have to agree with you, it is kind of different. But i listen to his sound on all of the saxophones, not really the typical sound. Its unique, which is the amazing thing about the saxophone. No one has the same sound/tone
