It could also be one of the Elder Scrolls games as well but I've never seen faeries in space with those games.

@Karragh The song is about how the player killed all the NPCs (Non-Player Characters) in his bloodlust, but didn't know that one of them was supposed to give him a plot-relevant quest later on. The song laments the fact that he has rendered his game unwinnable.

Mostly the song is just about killing random bystanders, though.

@akragster You sure about the plot relevance? In most games, those essential NPCs are wearing a plot armor which makes them invincible, or the game just flat out warns you that by killing this-and-that NPC you cannot advance the main story any further.

I think it's a typical dilemma of being unable to do some side quests (like vanquishing fucking fairies from space; I don't think it's a reference) in exchange for the fun of killing some fellas whose very presence begs for a sword to the face.
