I just watched Sarah Brightman's version of this, to compare. NICOLE hands down! Sarah's voice is so weak and drowned by the Phantoms. Nicole's version is much stronger and more beautiful to listen to and very smooth. You could also hear her natural voice at the start. It is a POWERFUL performance.

True, Nicole is extremely good but not quite on the level of Miss Brightman et al. What Nicole does do with a performance like this is open up musicals to a new audience. The kids that would normally wander away from the TV when the presenter announces a Phantom number notice her name and watch it. Surely some of those will be captivated by the music and maybe even start to respect musicals, opera and other more 'classical' forms of music. All good
