I've a question, how do I SSH from Win7 into Ubuntu instead of the other way around? You set your host as localhost, but I set mine as my local IP, but it didn't work, it said that the connection refused. Any help?
You really should use Nomachine's NX (and FreeNX) - which is basically VNC (or RDP) over SSH. Helluva lot easier, helluva lot faster, helluva lot sexier.
@topituulensuu Thank you topituulensuu for the insight, it is much appreciated. There was a typo, however I was talking about "AndLinux" it allows you to run linux inside of windows. Here is the URL for it:
Is it possible to do it the other way around? Say I'm on a laptop running Ubuntu that doesn't have Premiere Pro on it, but I have it on my Windows computer at home. Is that even possible?
Awesome Darren. The SSH GUI thing would also be useful if you had a low spec local computer and wanted to run all the heavy crunching stuff on a more powerful remote server.
If you were on an Open Wireless network service, no encryption, and you wanted to have secure communications from everything in your network (inc voip) would you choose VPN? You said it isn't very safe so what are the options?

@qurben If you have a fast enough machine you can do that through Virtual Box.

I love ssh -X. I learned about that a couple years ago. I had a blast using virtual machines and whatnot. I turned 16 today! Happy birthday to me!
