  • nascar needs to watch this video, and then read the two top comments. then do as they say

  • thats not racing... racing is race in a track that has more turns and not an oval... thats racing... and not that shitty cars...

  • @matu58 looks like racing to me

  • @matu58 thats great racin right there. and if your a f1 fan remember your biggest race of the year is at a square track

  • @4everafanDaleSr wtf ? search TC 2000 thats mi local race... thats racing, and F1 too... not this shitty cars... this one can go fast but in an oval ? nice...

  • See, they can look back and laugh about it. Today, it would be full of accusations, threats, and foul language. :(

  • This is completely the wrong place to put this comment, but it's better to do it here than never anywhere.

    Glasses. Spectacles.

Exactly what are the sides of glasses that go over the ears called?

    Arms? Limbs?

Anyway, if you look at a lot of modern spectacle styles, you will observe the limbs where they attach to the lens completely block the wearers peripheral vision.

I'm just saying it pisses me off, it's dumb, and they look like retards at intersections.

    Their heads swivel to much.

  • back then a little bumpin was ok, but now if you even get within 2 inches of the other driver, everyone freaks out.

  • WALTRIP SUCKS

  • @510RFL darrell or michael?

  • @crazysheltons both are worthless crybabies.. DALE RULES!!#3

  • its hard to see racing like that any more.. boy do i miss it alot

  • 3 of the most iconic 80s nascar drivers

  • Earnhardt was a dirty dirty driver.I hated the SOB.

  • @bigbadbruins1 I HATE U SOB RESPECT 3

  • @bigbadbruins1 I bet your really miss him

  • Earnhardt got Earnhardted :P

  • Thats the way you race Dale. Knock him out of the way. (THE EARNHARDT WAY)

  • @Duke4Reuti

no its if you cant pass them; crash them!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Nascar has turned into follow the Leader!!!!

  • @cmzicke1985 that`s what F1 turned into!

  • Love that Earnhardt grin after he said, "Wasn't a good race"

  • This is real NASCAR not the pansy stuff of today.

  • Real racing! lol dale "that wasnt a good race"

  • haha "...that wasnt a good race". haha thats all the man in black had to say about it.

  • AWESOME!

  • I remember hearing this race on the radio and was a BIG D.W. fan and I was SO happy with this race. I for one get tired of hearing about Dale all the time. D.W. was DA MAN!

  • @death1x A) Look up "NASCAR race preparation" on Google and hit the first option. You'll be surprised.

    B) If you don't like it, don't watch it. I hate people who watch videos they don't like and then go and flame it.

  • @death1x you are an idiot

  • Damn, even short track races were good back in the day! :D

  • Dale was smart this race , like every.. he didn't let the thought of winning spin him , instead when he got clipped , he slowed it down and just followed behind the 17 for second.. didn't mess his points position up , like Kyle Busch in last years Coke Zero 400.

  • That's the way Nascar was, All out racing, and NO BULL!!!

  • Whose the announcer? Sounds like he should be doing car dealership TV ads: "Zero down financing!"

  • Ricky Rudd lapped the field at Martinsville in 86, I believe

  • "that wunt a good race" well think of all the times you pitted others for a victory dale? lol

  • HAHA, 2:10- "Dale and I didn't think it was too good. ("It wasn't a good race"- Dale Earnhardt")" - Terry Labonte

  • Really great to watch this again. Makes me miss the old days!

  • earnhardt and labonte...owned..

  • Darrell sounds like Kyle Busch, blaming everyone else....

  • or indy drivers are pansys

  • yeah they run 225-235... they are big pansys... c'mon man. I love Nascar, but Indy drivers get it

  • actually thats why nascar is better. RUBBIN IS RACING

  • Those were the days of racing. Dale Sr could do amazing things with his car others dreamed of, just add lapping every car at Martinsville to the list, I'm sorry if I'm incorrect or if anyone has done it plz just tell and not call me a fag like other ppl on here.

  • Dale was smart this race , like every.. he didn't let the thought of winning spin him , instead when he got clipped , he slowed it down and just followed behind the 17 for second.. didn't mess his points position up , like Kyle Busch in last years Coke Zero 400.

  • ahh yes, back in the days when it wasn't the finely tuned aerodynamics that won the race, it was guts and a good crew turning as much out of your engine as they possibly could, think it ought to go back to that

  • I agree, the racing today is not racing! Here is my definition of racing, side by side passing a little

bumping, timing, slingshot maneuvers, side drafting, having more cars race and I mean race for the lead not this parade lap bullshit!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3fan4eva is completely right.

Does it seem that these cars drive a hell of a lot better than the COT? They are able to bang into each other, drive all over the track and still keep up with each other.

I also love how in the past couple years goodyear can't make a decent tire for any damn race....I've been watching Nascar for years for the longest time there weren't issues with tires....seriously let another manufacturer in...hoosier...or something.

  • Goodyear SUCKS! Everything they make is a joke. Every radial Ive had on a passenger car had issues and needed replaced. If they cant make camry tires how can they make 200mph rubber that lasts? I say let Bridgestone and Hoosier in. I run hoosiers on my car, no problems at all.

I love the old cars too. Its hilariously awesome watching a monte carlo box go 150-180mph.

  • I don't think it was only that the cars of then were better, but also the drivers then, for the most part, were better than what's out there today. Just my opinion. I'd love to see a match-up of drivers from 20 years ago or more in their prime against any driver today in the same set-up cars.

  • What about Toyo or Yokohama? Are they a good tyre manifacturer?

  • If another driver would do that now, Waltrass would be bitching about it, saying they were unsafe.

  • I wish we had this type of racing stil

    REAL Drivers

    REAL Cars

    REAL Racing

  • It's probably a good thing DW did this because if he were in Earnhardt's position and the same thing happened, he would still be complaining about it today.

  • god i hated those commentators. make everything seem like a bad college educational film

  • waltrip knew exactly what he was doing

  • if u watch at 1:41 u can see waltrip getting into labonte and turning him sidways and he correcs himself but takes dale with him! Terry a little mad at dale and taking a shot at him... haha. Waltrip has to blame everything on everyone else!!! WHINY WALTRIP!!!

  • who can spell his name right he was a second rate fkn boring driver who had no personality,he is probably the least remembered champion of all time,

  • dutchie1010 is a bum!! Terry is awesome!!!

  • 2 champsonships could you do that no so shut up

  • and you're a bum for not spelling correctly.

gotta love the new audio preview.

  • "Thats Racing"

  • I suppose that's why Terry was running into Dale in every corner.

  • Terry was pushing Dale because Dale was holding him up and Waltrip was trying to get by. Notice how Terry just pushed Dale square in the back (in those days with those square style front ends those guys drove those cars like that and didn't wreck). If the tables were turned Dale would have hit Terry in the left rear and would have spun him out. Dale blocked Terry several times, but Terry never touched Dale's left rear until after Dale tried to put him in the wall.

  • Waaaaah :`( I gert so tired of hearing how Dale "screwed" somebody. You can see how hard Labonte was hitting him. The difference between Dale putting those guys in the wall and them putting Dale in the wall was his car control. If Elliot had hit Labonte at the 87 Winston there would have been no "Pass In The Grass", and you know it.

Anyway, you can clearly see Labonte cut Waltrip off going into 3 and spun himself and Dale.

  • amen to that brother amen

  • that was a good ass race at bristol

  • Terry definitely made the mistake.

  • And Both Terry Labonte and Earnhardt both had a good laugh about it and didnt make a big deal about it. Things sure ahve changed since back then!

  • Great stuff. The poster needs to add the tags 'nascar', '1987' and 'martinsville'.

  • Classic. classic.

  • That was a great vintage video, would love to see more. It looked like Terry may have just lost his cool a little bit, which rarely happened in his career. He may have cut Waltrip off because of paying all his attention to Earnhardt.
