The fairly cheerful music played while all this crazy violent and gory imagery is showed is kind of an odd mixture. Loved GoLion, the music is mostly decent... it's just how they put the two things together that's weird.

After watching both, I gotta say GoLion is better than Voltron. That " '81 era Disco" is badass, in my opinion.

When it gets to the point that the music, character names, and plotlines are different, just make your own damn show! Robotech is guilty of this too!

I do agree that GoLion is better, now that I've watched all of the boxsets.

In fact, I'm not gonna pick up the Vehicale Voltron and instead just wait for Media Blasters to do the Deirugger XV sets (original Vehicale Voltron).

I honestly still only like SOME of the GoLion music. Has anyone else who now owns all the sets think that the Black Lion's theme and the Blue Lion's theme are WAY over-played?

Anyway, it is a VERY underrated/bad ass anime, though. I very much agree :D

I can see your point and at the same time, I also gotta kinda disagree with ya.

I love both Voltron: Defender of the Universe, and also Hundred Beast King: GoLion. On one hand I have all of the Voltron sets, and I love good ol' Voltron and it's music, and at the same time, I have the first two of the three just released GoLion set's, and I love both.

BUT, I'm sorry the '81 era Disco ruins a lot of GoLion battles. Hell if the U.S. music of '84 were inserted into GoLion, it be near perfect.
