hey, i have an 86 gt and it made that noise when my header gaskets blew. buy high temp gaskets dont use the same gaskets they give you when you bought the headers there garbage. but its deffinantly 25 dollar header gaskets without a doubt

that is a spun baring or a rod

You check them header gaskets-my 91 lx seems to have that problem w/ equal length shorties. but it does sound like something internal. good luck
