You certainly sound jealous because this man,like many other minorities,sought the high road and accepted responsibility and made a success out of their lives.I dont think they spend their time crying about how they are 'owed'anything, or about how they have been 'wronged by society'., or how they are a victim and the 'white man' is evil.
FYI, I am not irish,I too have worked my whole life and what I have is due to my efforts.

Becuz civil rights legislation has been around a long time. There was civil rights written right after the civil war. Are you saying there was no racism since then? And the phrase "civil rights" is subjective in the context of race.

A question based upon an assumption nevertheless.Racism still exists and will always exist.Also, it is not limited to any particular race.Some people of all races are racists, for hatred is not limited to any color.American society has,and is still,trying to right the wrongs of the past.The problem I had with the other gent is his claims that only whites are racist and the hostility towards people who succeed.

I didn't say that the NAACP was an Uncle Tom, I stated; "...when are the "African" Americans going to start calling this age old organization "Uncle Tom" or the "N' word?" Personally, I find THAT word along with a few select others offensive. I have never been babied and how to you know I'm white? And why would this even be an issue unless reverse discrimination is the case. I've worked hard all my life & I paid for my college education...

This man should be in the White House, even though only running as a congressman.
My pick for the White House in 2012 would be Arizona governor Jan Brewer and this man. It wouldn't matter to me if it was a Brewer-West ticket, or West-Brewer.
And then we would have a true LEADER leading our country whose allegiance to it we would not question.
If we elect Brewer and West to the White House, you would also see a mass-exodus of illegals voluntarily heading back to Mexico, etc. :)
