hey geek. There are 2 models in 1963, early & the LATE model. I owned a 1963 Panel Bus/Transporter, & it was the early model because of its smaller sized rear window. The late model has a much wider rear window. Sometimes there are swaps done on the rear door/hatch. It is then, preferred to check vin#,to be definite. This microbus is SICK. I will have to race my next 1 out, for sure. I thought of just turbo boosting a VW race block, or install a beefed up Porsche engine.?.We'll see.
