  • damn it, now I want a friggin' creme egg

  • I would still eat it.

  • you monsters! that is perfectly good eggs there ;(

  • does the queen know what you're doing with her money? p.s. you're now qualified to work for the USA government.lol

  • @dufusrunescape Shut up.

  • How big is the motor on the crash test track?

  • that's what sientists do when they're bored

  • @grarosting scientists

  • Ahhh, I was gonna eat that!

  • Fuck the cure for cancer, make weapons such as physics guns xD

  • yaya physic

  • Ah, now you failed to mention the temperature. The experiments would be different at different temperature. I could assumed S.T.P. but we know what assume does..

Dear Cadbury's, I was on YouTube the other day and....

  • dude id proberly eat your experiment if you invited me round to watch it.

  • @fr4z3r777

Are you an Idiot? How would a band of mechanical engineers CURE FUCKING CANCER.

Go to oncologists' videos and complain then.

  • this experiment is amazing! i want to get into physics so bad. i feel like i will be good at it. i think im going to change my major to it.

  • troll make egg no creamy *sucks out cream*

  • 0:20 yummy... *wants*

  • @EqualAndFree Cream eggs don't, señor.

  • Why on Earth would anyone want to do tensile testing on chocolate eggs?! It's such a waste of yummy chocolate :D

  • Is there a small band of semi-literate people trawling YouTube pasting "you should be curing cancer" and references to "taxpayers" on any vaguely science-related video that's not about oncology!!!? Or is it a troll thing and I'm taking the bait!?

  • @sixtysymbols Nope just one teenager that isn't either making an obscure joke that nobody got

  • @sixtysymbols You're getting quite trolled my dear Brady.

I recommend you never make a video on magnets becuase of trolls

  • @Kendrana He shouldn't listen to trolls the videos are imformative and intresting. :)

  • @sixtysymbols People love to ask others do what they will never do. Their idea is. Share the duty : we'll tell you what you should or should not do, and you'll do it.

Nice as usual. Let everybody shut up or start studying and doing something about cancer instead of commenting.

  • Your hard-earned tax dollars at work :]

  • @iGangster You aren't funny.

  • @Stormfail

    Neither are you.

  • 24 mph has never looked so fast

  • yes. mmhmm. interesting... how odd...

DOCTOR, i have indeed confirmed, through extensive scientific experiments that these eggs are, indeed, chocolate and creme-filled

  • Whew ... certainly less controversial than the crucifixion dynamics analysis.

  • Good to know that millions of taxpayers well-earned money that go tirades university are going towards very important research. Thank god they weren't researching unimportant stuff like cures for cancer etc.

  • @adamtheenglishteen im not sure how you could use mechanical engineers with a crash track to cure cancer in their free time.

  • @JCDCEE One word... robots :P

  • @adamtheenglishteen This was only for fun. They just had some creme eggs and wanted to test their equipment to make sure it would gather data correctly.

  • @Theevilsnowman Hey, god don't take it seriously...

  • @Theevilsnowman Hey, god don't take it seriously... it's fun to watch

  • i can do the same experimet at home.WITHOUT ANY EQUIPMENT

  • i wud still eat it ....mmmmmmmmmmmm creme eggs

  • Yes its a marketing idea but so what, its a good one and also sparks interest in science. Personally I think its brilliant.

  • this is obviously not some experiment, its a marketing scam, think about it, Cadbury's do those Goo adverts where they crush them making them look all messy and unique (the creme eggs unique selling point) ... these scientists are doing the exact same thing but in real life with machines....

i garuntee you wanted to buy a creme egg after watching this, because i did!

  • @MrGWS21 we aren't marketing the eggs... if anything, we're marketing our love of science and engineering! :)

  • @MrGWS21 I loathed these little orbs of toxic death before the video, and enjoyed every moment of their horrible destruction. Still loathe the thought of actually eating one. X-D

  • i think that they have a lot free time

  • Bravo. Everyone deserves to have a bit of fun now and again. Keep up the good work.

  • lol what did they expect the results to be

  • This made my day :D

  • stfu trolls

  • I saw you were featured on newscientist. That absolutely made my day.

  • @theboss027 thanks! all good fun!

  • ...... scientists

  • Why all the heavy machinery? Couldn't you have just thrown the eggs or squashed them with your foot to see what happens?

P.s. I'd like some creme eggs :) I'm sure you have some to spare.

  • I could have eaten those :(

  • the egg looked wrong after the compressive strength test

  • the whole time i was thinking "what the fuck is wrong with these guys!? i could've eaten that egg!"

  • Good to know my eggs can survive a slow car crash!!

  • More like Cadbury Mucus Eggs.

  • How very insightful.

  • should have thrown one against Moriarty,s forehead.

  • why?

  • Worrying to see "energy" given in newtons there.

  • @TehSmeely no that was my fault in the video edit... I had figures for "force to failure" in Newtons and "energy to failure" in Joules and I changed the figure at the last minute but not the preceding wording... I have tried to correct with an annotation.

  • Nottingham FTW. <3

  • I don't get it....

  • These experiments lack liquid nitrogen.

  • what a waste of chocolate

  • You're paid to think! Mr. Scientist.

  • What a bunch of scientists!!

  • Who else wants a Cadbury Creme Egg after watching this?

  • what the hell... why waste all these chocolate eggs... like seriously... why???

  • their balls should undergo crash test

  • feggs

  • what does this all mean???

  • wasnt as fun i i would had imagined, maybe with a real hen egg would had been more exciting. But go on like this, ur videos are really addictive. I think i will start astrophysics next year, i really love physics, but i wasnt good at school, thou i wasnt good at any subject what so ever, i was pretty lazy, but im scared i will not be good enought with numbers, with maths and physics.

P.S. if u could do more videos about R. Feynman, i would really appreciate it. Cheers.

  • Get Standard of 6 Airbags....?

  • Were there any test results that could be put to good use? Also, I bet the guys at the cream egg R&D department do this all day every day ;-) Maybe they'll make a video about them looking through a huge telescope one day.

  • Stop whinning. Go eat a creme egg.

  • thats so cruel i cherish my cream egg <3

  • And people don't believe me when i say the time in the lab can be fun. Watch this! :D

  • Mildly entertaining, but what a waste of food.

  • 0_0

  • idk why people are moaning about this is why they haven't cured cancer and about wasting time... for all anyone knows this was done in free time and tbh even the most random things can bring out good ideas... plus no one can expect anyone to be solidly working all dayyyyyy xD literally everyone messes about at some point

  • To the people crying these things would have taken a few minutes to do and who's to say they didn't do this on a break or out of hours? It's like catching a doctor having a quick glance at a newspaper between appointments are crying "HE GETS PAID TO DO THAT?" hurr durr fucking idiots.

  • Hey guys, I remember your valentines video from 2010 and Prof Poliakoff was talking about how they get the minty goo in the middle of them "After Eight" mints (using enzymes to slowly break down the sugars If I remember correctly) Do they get the delicious goo in the in the middle of Creme Eggs using similar methods??

  • Haters with lame jobs are gonna' hate! I loved it!

  • Gggoooooooooooooooo

  • and they get paid for this?? geez

  • nice, all the people having a whinge are wankers!

  • so at 24mph a creme egg is relatively undamaged, maybe a good time to start inversting in some kind of creme egg seatbelts

  • So.... America.... Welcome to our science... British science...

  • One of the most incredibly pointless videos I have ever viewed. To think some people out there get enjoyment out of watching creme eggs being crushed....

  • Should of kept it in the freezer =P.

  • wow ..this video changed my life !!

  • Did they use the same egg for all the egg-speriments?

  • try an terrys chocalate orange

  • what a waste. Kids in africa would kill for a cream egg.

  • Like this is your from Nottingham....

I wish i could like my own comment lol

  • 39 people dont like cream eggs, i think

  • Since its easter, why not mount rabbits on those rigs?

  • You know you have too much time and money when you start experimenting on creme eggs...

  • I'm a barman, so if I blend Creme eggs with my job... I'm gunna see how many Creme eggs I can fit in a pint glass....then hang myself

  • And the point of this was?

  • This looks like a lot of wasted time - and eggs.

  • What are you doing? -Science, Awwwwwwwyeeeaaaaaaa

  • WHOA WHOA WHOA... You'r doing this instead of playing Portal 2? What kind of scientists are you ?!?!

  • Dudes srsly I find this video fun too watch, who cares if it isn't 'productive' it's entertaining and I found it fun too watch, but poor cream eggs tho. R.I.P cream eggs.

  • MICROWAVE

  • Glad to see nottingham phsics department are making good use of their time

  • @MoACbillielang personally, I feel there's some merit in making a video with slightly wider appeal in the hope of sparking a bit of extra curiosity about science and engineering among people who are never exposed to it!

My interest in science was triggered by moments like this - not by people who sat in heir offices all day and wrote papers for journals I never read.

But I'm a bit biased and all opinions are respected... Thanks for even watching!

  • @MoACbillielang

glad to see ur FACE is making good use of its time

    stfu fag

  • @MoACbillielang We note that you spend your valuable time watching and criticizing other peoples' videos.

Sixtysymbols - Thanks for sharing your joy, wonder, and knowledge of science with such a generous spirit.

  • @MoACbillielang funniest fucking smartass comment ever!

  • this is why we havent cured cancer

  • @TREBOR1985 no its not (I left out my apostrophe as a tribute to you)

  • @sixtysymbols nice video but I would of preferred the cure for cancer .

  • @sixtysymbols |no its not (I left out my apostrophe as a tribute to you)|

Funniest comment on youtube. No joke.

  • @sixtysymbols OH snap

  • @sixtysymbols that was pompous.

  • @sixtysymbols I subscribed based on that response.

  • @sixtysymbols if you weren't wasting your time on crap little experiments involving creme eggs we could have cured one type of cancer!

  • @TREBOR1985 go read the daily mail faggot

  • @TREBOR1985 No, actually the reason why cancer has not been cured is because it makes certain people loads of money.

  • @TREBOR1985 I fail to see how engineering and physics has anything to do with curing cancer.

  • @TREBOR1985 But all work and no play make The University of Nottingham a dull boy...

  • @TREBOR1985 Your face is why we haven't cured cancer. I put in an apostrophe as a tribue to sixtysymbols.

  • @TREBOR1985 There is no cure for cancer; we are able to treat certain forms of cancer but they aren't "cures".

...But you're obviously much more intelligent than these idiot professors, right? With that in mind; why haven't you found a cure?

Besides, this is a physics lab - not a pharmacy.

  • @TREBOR1985 google "cbd and cancer", then find out how you've been lied to all along.

  • @TREBOR1985 how does physics have anything to do with cancer you fucking moron.

  • what a waste :(

  • Creme eggs must be the most bullied chocolate...

  • So this is how it now costs up to £9k for uni?!?!

  • PLAY GOO DARES WINS!

  • that was eggsalent

  • Comment removed

  • this is 9/11 for creme eggs

  • This is why we haven't yet found a cure for diseases but we do have a cool cream egg advert!!

  • A sad day for creme filled eggs....

  • Holy crap, what was that guy's name, gus? Doug? They asked if he was happy..

He sounded just like JAMES BOND!!!!!

  • @ccronn HELL YES!!!!! James Bond voice double for sure! Good spotting, man. :)

  • You should do a follow up video with you guys trying to fortify the eggs withholding power by making an engineered structure around it, or something

  • imagine ur balls hit by those machine

  • "So professors, what have you doing with the funding for your research?"

"Well em.. we ah... substantiation in impetus and locomotion."

    "Whats that?"

    "Am.. throwing cream eggs"

  • Makes me want some cream eggs. Haven't had any in AGES!!!

  • If only physics class was this fun. :P

  • You should send this to Cadbury's. I'm sure they'd love it! ;)

  • were spending money on this????? really?

  • lol awesome tests! But what about the... eating test? Do you guys need any volunteers? :P

  • eggcellent

  • People without super slow motion HD cameras must not be given the opportunity to break or blast stuff! :-|

  • 1:35 made me piss.

  • That was fun! I hate to see what mess they'll make for Niel in the chemistry department.

  • goo dares wins! haha

  • Did you eat them afterwards? :D

  • That's made me hungry

  • nice, what temps do you use?

  • Same to waste candy like that.... Can i have some? :3

  • Should have dipped it into liquid oxygen and set it on fire.

  • that must hurt!

  • D'aw, those eggs are expensive and awesome... pity to see so many of them not eaten!

  • I love the Charpy method!

  • Ladies and gentlemen, here we have another evil NWO physics experiment where evil scientists attempt, once more, to create a black hole to kill us all.

  • almost seems like a civil engineering/materials lab :O

  • This is brilliant!

  • I like this. This is just like the Mythbusters, only ... British.

  • The cam withstood 30G too o-O

  • Now do frozen eggs!

  • But do creme eggs have the same strength that a shelled egg has when pressed?

  • @heldgop not sure I'm familiar with CICKENS! ;)

But typos aside, the reason we used Creme Eggs is because this is kind of a sequel to last year when the chemists used Creme eggs... and why did they use Creme eggs... Well, that's another story...
