I think the way your looking at it is because Mustaine has achieved so much greatness with his own band (Megadeth), you think that if he was still with Metallica, they would be 2 times the greatness. I dont think its a good way to look at it because he was actually being disruptive in the band and causing them to slowly fall apart. At least they got a good replacement, Kirk Hamster.

I agree about not playing with feeling, but I think you can learn a lot from him, I wouldnt call him a god, but you dont "learn" feeling from somebody, you can learn how to play fast like MAB and apply feeling to it.
