its my favorite song ^^ Pink floyd is REALLY a band and have a good sound... this is real music ! (i'm french : for the com's i dont understand everything i dont speak a lot english :) )
@lucifersam9 if you want to know if the French like Pink floyd the answer it's not really :) i thing the others French dont understand what is the real music ... it's not the rap & rnb it's too repetitive. so it's possible for the French to like this band but not a lot :) but me YES !!!! :) Greetings from France ;)
PS : i have two aunt from Canada : in Quebec more exactely :)
@lucifersam9 Pink Floyd is just as popular in France as it is in Canada, UK or anywhere. Most of my friends love it, and the other ones at least heard of them.
This album isn't too famous here, though. Prefer mostly know The Wall and Dark Side Of The Moon in France, as far as I know.
@peggy986 exactly - 100% linen AND cotton i.e. nothing other than linen or cotton. Linen being made from the flax plant, and cotton being made from the cotton plant. All clear now? These things are very easily checked you know!

Only retards listen to this kind of music. Everyone I know that listens to pink floyd is a meathead. Especially Tim M, who is like, the most idiot person I've ever met!
@murdock283 I've had enough of this "entitled to their own opinion" bullshit. Everyone has an opinion, but no one is "entitled" to anything. Stop spouting nonsense you learned in grade school, sheep.
@uruok You are picking on one word that seems to piss you off. I have an opinion. You are an idiot. By the way I am entitled to that opinion because it is in the constitution. Nonsense? The only reason you can spout your stupidity is because of people who have paid the ultimate price for your ability to do that. I am proud to be a veteran. My heart goes out to those who understand what I am saying. Do the gene pool a favor.
@uruok Are you retarded? Pretty much every developed nation in the world (and most undeveloped nation's citizens aren't on youtube) has protect free speech. They ARE entitled to an opinion.
@CK3890 Alien and sedition act of 1798, Sedition Act of 1918, Espionage Act (1917), and the Patriot Act.
all of these hold the truth to be self evident that at any given time the government you have endowed power in over you and your 'protection of well being' has the right to take away any right they feel may hinder the Party *cough* i mean the government and its operations.
@CK3890 No no, thats not what i meant at all, if you research those acts you realize that we are not entitled to any rights, they can take any rights away, it has nothing to do with the video as was your comment that i replied to.
@olcrein America's ability to take away our rights (and I have researched those acts before, I believe only non-citizens can be stripped of their rights) does not mean we are not entitled to them. There are international human rights laws. I suggest you research the UN's Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
At first listen, I just couldn't get into this album because the sound is way too different. Then, several months later, I decided to give "Animals" a try again. My verdict now: it's so fucking epic.
@3agleh I don't think so. I think the other songs feature his vocal so I presume he also played keyboards. I can only recall Waters quiting the bend(or thrown out whatever). I think Wright left the band in 1979 or something but I'm almost 100% sure it was after this album.
@Valdezb6p Wright was fired during the making of The Wall, but he did play on the live tour, and he was only paid regular musicians' wages. He ended up keeping the most money from the tour though, according to what I've read, because of the costs incurred by the band for the large theatrical displays on the tour, and for other reasons.

I fucking love Roger's voice. Sure Gilmour can sing circles around Waters, but there's just that awesome whiny, raspy aspect to Roger's voice that really suits late 70s Floyd.
@ThePaulpFiction Waters & Gilmour were perfect foils for each other's writing & singing style. It's such a shame that they can't get along, as Pink Floyd was best when the both of them (and Wright) had a significant contributing role in the songs & overall album arrangements.
i have the wall demo and soon to have DSOTM demo, does anyone know if Animals has a demo album somewhere hidden within?? id love to hear this and dogs as a demo
Agreed. It came out when I was in Gr.11 I think....Along with Meddle, Animals was my favorite of theirs for quite a while, partly because DSOTM and WYWH were so overplayed, and partly because the mood of the album fit with my socio-political viewpoint at that point. I do recall my parents getting a bit concerned with my constant playing of this album! LOL! (Oh my! My dear, what has happened to our little darling who liked to listen to Petula Clark & Neil Diamond with us? LOL!!)
Just one more thing. For Instant "blow your mind" satisfaction, jump directly to 9:35 of the video and Mr. Gilmour will be happy to oblige. *not responsible for the brain (damaged) matter that's left on your walls.
This is one of my favorite YouTube Posts. I "found" it about a year ago and find myself "revisiting" often. Great Band. Great Album. Great Post. Thanks.
Well dislikes are dislikes... who gives a shit... funny how many haters on every actual GOOD song I've come across on Youtube... but when it's a really garbage shitbowl... you all seem to love... ie'.. them blackeyed peas thingys!
DAMN, That was good !..Just time warped 30 years back to my bdrm, skipping school, doing b*ng h*ts with my friends. Lost my vinyl of this years ago, but just listened to this twice, and in between bought new cd....F*ck*ng awesome..thanks 4 posting....gonna have to listen once more....
@SolidLittle no, the lyric doesn't sound good ... but the thought is the correct one. although the verses about Margaret Thatcher (the "fucked up old hag") would also fit the ex-Alaska governor quite well too.

@ThePaulpFiction Waters & Gilmour were perfect foils for each other's writing & singing style. It's such a shame that they can't get along, as Pink Floyd was best when the both of them (and Wright) had a significant contributing role in the songs & overall album arrangements.

09.38 one of the most aggressive solos I've ever heard. You can really hear the criticism of the "pigs" in it

Roger Waters is such a genius. His lyrics are very profound.

I think that this song should be adapted to the "modern society" of nowadays. Roger should replace Mary Whitehouse with Sarah Palin.
Hey you, Palin
Ha ha charade you are
Nah, doesn't sound good. Too bad.
SolidLittle 1 year ago 2
@SolidLittle no, the lyric doesn't sound good ... but the thought is the correct one. although the verses about Margaret Thatcher (the "fucked up old hag") would also fit the ex-Alaska governor quite well too.
