  • when you want to substitute y and x you said use the points (2,-3) or(-4,5). pretend you where doing this problem in a test and they already gave you the slope. -4/3. and u wanted to solve for b. however you don't have any points to substitute in the equation since they already gave you the slope. how would u solve for b.

  • ur WIFE DOES WAAAAAAATT :P

  • how did he get -9/3 at 1:45

  • @bigbadwolf3567 input x output y

  • @bigbadwolf3567 it`s a different way of writing -3

  • that line was hurendous... lol funny guy

  • THAT WAS VERY UNACCEPTABLE HAHA

  • Does that mean i can substatue in any one i want of the 2 diffrent points or is it pasific? plz help

  • @theholywand11 any other point that falls right on the line applies to this

  • this is great and love the humor but right now I need coffee or ?????

  • thanks ;]

  • ive never in my whole life understood and loved doin math until nw!!!

  • What is he doing with the operator signs?

how does it become b=1? He transports be whcih becomes negative so in my mind it should be -b=-1 does he multyply by -1? Does b have to be possitive is this some kind of rule....??

  • @colloredbrothers it's the same thing. he had 0= -1+b , solve for b, so you have 1=b , -1= -b is the same thing, although why you would want to solve for -b is beyond me.

  • @millrice thanks I understand its simpler than I thought.

  • Dude u sound like a gamer and thats the only reason y ive been learning better from all these vids!!!!!

  • can u make a video for turning point slope form into slope intercept form , or better yet!- ANYONE got a link?

  • "I joke but you don't realize that it's true" lol :)

  • .....

    -3=-8/3+b

    -b=-8/3+3 (Transpose b and -3 hence b will become -b and 3 will become 3

b=8/3-3 (Multiply both sides by -1 to make b Postive)

b=8/3-9/3 (Simplify 3 to 9/3 to make it more simpler to subtract)

    b=-1/3

    yay,

  • @turboisken

Can You Tell Me Where did We Get -9/3 ? i Mean How ? did you multiplyed the -3 by 3/3 ?

    Thanx

  • To @Andydrewww @Jokerk

    -3 = -8/3 + B is equivalent to -3 minus -8/3 = b. -3 is converted into a fraction that is manageable by multiplying the numerator and denominator of -3/1 by 3(the denominator of -8/3)leaving you with the equation of -9/3 - -8/3 = b.

    Hope this helps! :)

  • @EmSingsMusic so out of practice, this helped me too cause I got lost there, thanks xD

  • Thank you sir. You make understanding this far easier than my college professor with a P.H.D. in Geometry. I never can quite grasp what she is on about, then I refer to your videos and it makes sense. Keep it up!

  • This helps alot more than what my teacher teaches in class,i'd like to switch my math classes loll !!!

  • How is he getting -9/3? I understand multiplying 4/3 by x to get 8/3, then he just states three equals -9/3. i hope someone knows what im talking about and i might be retarded but i cant get past that, get everything except that. Need help plz answer me!!!!!!!!

  • @Jokerk1d it is because you have 8/3 as fraction. its just a way to make the solving process easier. So, simply because -3 is a whole number and 8/3 is a fraction you change -3 to a fraction as well, the fraction of -3 is -9/3 and that because -9/3 = -3.

  • @AndyDrewww If you find out cn u tell me aswell?

  • y=mx+c. yay for einstein.

  • Thank you so much! We need more teachers like you in Argentina! This is the best use for internet! please keep doing this! Thank you again!

  • we need more teacher like u in high school.

  • Salman, FTW!

  • You are amazing! Thank you soooo much! I am forever grateful, keep making these videos many people appreciate it!

  • you r the best :-)

  • I love the videos there awesome. I was lost up until I came across your video thanks so much it is greatly appreciated!

    I got lost towards the end. 0= - 1/2 (2) + b

    how did it become a positive b - 1

    0= ---- (2) + b 2

0=do you cross cancel both 2's and get -1+ b how did it become a positive 1 ?

  • @barbielicious30 yeah... can anyone tell me ? I lost on that part too

  • @barbielicious30 im a bit late, but i dont know what to do, so i'll answer you

    0=-1 + b

    -b=-1

    both sides times -1

    b=1

  • i love it

  • He broke down the 3 into a fraction which equals 9/3

  • yo how did you find -3=-9/3 work

  • dude your vids are the best, keep up the good work cause we all need it lol

  • Until the last step it was negative 8 over 3. Why did it then change to Positive 8 over 3 in the last step?

    I'm really confused now.

  • HERO :D

  • lol...its cool how there are so many different ways to solve a math problem. I now know of 3 ways to solve a problem of this type and 2 are very similar.

  • @Trmpt106 which ways??

  • aaaaaaaarghh thisis tiring

  • thank u soo much ..u make learning fun!!!!!!!

  • it's called the Corridinate Grid not the Corridinate Axis

  • Who cares about how is called ?, the important thing is to understand how to use it.

  • lol his first line

  • Woo hoo I totally got the right answer from the last video before starting this one! You rock!

  • You are doing an amazing job. And you are hilarious. I am really enjoying your videos. Keep it going. Cheers!

  • After about 8 times of watching this, and being helped by a guy who's a Computer Network Administrator for a living, I finally get the point--a little.

What do you mean when you say one can "attend a seminar?"

    I'd really like to that.

  • My supervisor was surprised that I was doing Math on my break.

He said, "Since when do you like Math?"

I said, "Since I started taking this online training where the teacher actually believes I can do it."

Then I told him how most of my former Math teachers didn't believe I was capable.

By then, he was more interested in discussing the stock market and failed bailout, which I don't understand.

All I can say is I have no reason to worry about stocks, since I don't have any.

  • There is a mistake at 1:43....It's supposed to be 1/3 not -1/3 .... because it's supposed to be -8/3 + 3 which equals 1/3. Just thought I'd clear things up.

  • Nay, there's no mistake in there. It IS negative one third. You can check the answer with other coordinates.

  • Did you make a mistake solving y=-4/3x+b? I got a different answer (b=72/3) and I did what you said to do in the last video...

  • woow first comment...it looks like I'm one of the few ppl that really wanted to check upon y=-4/3x+b :)))

thanks a lot k...demy you really helped me
