    Me too, I have been watching this for years. I've checked other videos too but this one is just simply the best, there is so much emotion in the way it was played - that, I believe, is what other renditions lacked.

  • WTF? The ending IS his own work! The actual Danny Elfman version ends on the climax, followed by a cluster chord. This, his version, is an alternative to the D.Elfman ending which is unresolved. This version offers resolution to the piece which i think i is pretty damn beautiful. To be accused of plagarism is humiliating and extremely infuriating, so to the arogant people who know nothing, SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE FACE!!!!!

  • @hallowbe You are wrong - This is in fact a FULL piece - Even though it ended in the movie with a cluster chord! But, what he means is he has added some addition notes here and there on the Repeat! I know this piece very well, and got a video where the piece I played as written - Compare, and you will notice the things I mean! :)

  • @hallowbe your actually only partly right; in the sheet music he's using, it ends and has a repeat just like he played. but when he repeats the song it is slightly (just slightly by a hair) more intricate then whats written. so that means he added that for some of the second half of the whole piece (if that makes any sense). just thought id point it out.

  • @GLmusicaddict It's called 'ad libitum'. The fact that he's improvised at that instance, emphasises that it is indeed his own work.

He is reading off the very same sheets that I have downloaded that were written by Danny Elfman. But hey, it still sounds cool. :-) and it is possible that he meant by that, the things he added in the second play through.

  • I'm quite sure that by "ending of my own work" he simply means the embellishments and alterations he made when playing the song the second time around. Most of us here either know or can plainly see that this sheet music does not end abrubtly in cluster chords like the music from the movie, and thus we know that he did not write the "ending" that most people are referring to. However, if you would actually listen to the whole song, you will hear differences.

    I have those same sheets, and what he plays when he starts the "new round" (about 1:34) from the beginning is not the same as in the sheets. If you listened and watched carefully, you would easily notice it too (1:35-1:53).

    Do check things more carefully before accusing others of lying.

But the official sheets have the official ending like Tim Burton and Danny Elfman intended to. So this guy is lying when he says that he came up with it himself.
