@Davinderanu Sikhs did get all their rights- the reason Punjab wasn't partitioned was because it had been partitioned in 1947, and to partition it again would have destroyed the balance that had existed- especially since Chandigarh had just been built. Sikhs were never a majority in Punjab- to convert a Hindi v. Punjabi dispute to a Sikh v. Hindu dispute was mischievous politics played by the Sangh.

@Davinderanu I don't know how to explain this to you, but most Sikhs living in India consider India home. There was terrorist violence and so people died in Punjab. The 1984 riots were inexcusable, as is the failure of the state to take any action against it, nonetheless most sikhs consider India home. He also never tried to intefere in the Hindu caste system though he treated all castes as equal. The Sikhs have a very strong caste system. A Rajput Sikh will marry a Hindu Rajput, A Jat Sikh will marry a Hindu Jat, A Khatri Sikh will marry a Khatri Hindu and so on. But rarely do Sikhs of other castes marry with each other. Thus many idiots have no understanding of Sikhs.
