This is beautiful. . Not a "fierce" or emotional as Bartoli but both versions have true dramatic and musical integrity. I'd be happy just with these two in my record collection.

It's rather refreshing to hear it sung by a contralto (who has NO problem with the top notes whatsoever). As always, she provides with some unique and well-thought of da capo ornaments. Sounds a little too spontaneous here and there, but ever so exciting, keeping us on the edge of the seats! LOVING IT!

@vitellia Vivica Genaux is a mezzo-soprano, not a contralto. She just has an actual bottom to her voice that is infinitely useful, unlike Bartoli.
