This shows a very realistic reconstruction of the crash from 1.14 to 1.45. I have never understood why the pilots did not attempt an emergency land at point 1.23 on the flat fields which are right beside runway 26R for some 1 mile long. Instead they risked flying a crippled aircraft to Le Bourget airport which was some 5 km away?

Even if they reached Le Bourget by that time the essential parts of the plane were evaporated so they could not have landed anyway so it seems a pointless decision!

concorde f-bvfb crashed after a pease of metal on the runway poped her left tyre wich hit the fuel tank leading to a fuel leak wich was eanited by the after burner wich made a fire that made concorde banck to the left, stall,then crash :S but i live a copple of miles form an air musem wich concorde g-boaa is in

Couple of things wrong with this:

1) it was Concorde F-BTSC that crashed, not F-BVFB

2) the fire was ignited by undercarriage wires, not afterburner reheat

I LOVE Concorde's famous left turn off of JFK's 31L, and this video shows it better than any other (at 1:50).

Also, dunno why, but it's always seemed that the French pilots made the cut a lot tighter than the British pilots... who themselves usually did it somewhere between 20 and 25degrees.
