  • i have the same problem wat should i do.

  • Seems to me like your hard drive is busted. Same thing happened to my friends hard drive, so I just replaced it with my old ipod classic 30GB hard drive and it worked, it's down to 30 GB but it works for the most part, i didn't really mind, I use my Iphone for music anyways. I just wish i could get a 32 GB Iphone, mine's 16 and so is my 4. :(

  • If the hard drive was busted the apple screen would not show up because that is part of the firmware

  • @stoopidstories Try letting it sit for a couple of days and then turn the lock on. Then connect to your computer and restore with iTunes. I'm actually trying it right now. My 80gig has been epic fail for about a month. Piece of Poop! I'll post later to let you know if it works.

  • try to restart it while its connected to itunes.

  • mine does the smae thing!!! so damn anyoing :(

  • well my ipod dont come up itunes

  • yes! finally got my ipod to work again thanks!.

  • charg it for like 4 hours

  • put your ipod on DFU mode, there are a lot of vids that show how to do it, and then try to turn it on again... hope it will work :)

  • same fucking problem man

  • i have an ipod classic 120gb and one time it was working fine then a couple of days ago the battery ran down and i charged it for more than 4 hours and it got to about half way but ran back down the next day and it i tried charging it after that but all it says is "charging, please wait" but it doesn't charge. If you unplug it it says"connect to power"then shouts off.Nothing i do works, i left it charging for a couple of hours and still nothing . If any one can help it would be of great help.

  • @aanniico Looks like your battery is dead.

  • @aanniico what do you guys do to your ipods? chuck them up in the air? mine works fine had it for over a year and droped it several times, still works great!

  • About some hours i was with the same problem. I entered the disk mode and then the windows recognized it, then i restore with iTunes.

    ===The solution===

    1) Connect the ipod to computer

    2) Enter Disk Mode - Press play/pause and the middle button.

    3) Access iTunes and click restore.

YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA IN IPOD.

    =D

  • my ipod is not working eigher! mine goes to the "apple" and then goes to the message X error on it but if someone can help me, that would be very nice^^

  • I had that, until i saw this website saying to basically to restart it and then whilst its restarting, hold it in your left hand and bash it really hard with your right. it worked, put, i then imedietly connected to my computer and 'restored' it and now its bummed :(

  • At end the batterie is low !!!!

  • try restoring it on itunes.. thats da only solution i have for u (or anyone with the same problem) if its not the case below....

if its the battery thats going berserk, the recharge cycle probably ran out.

u need to get it replaced in a nearby apple retail store.

theyll just give u a new or refurbished ipod, and its free unless the warrantys over(in like a year or so), which in that case u will need to pay $60.

  • DISK MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this happend to me what u do is when see the apple hold left button and middle button then a screen should come up just look around that this worked for me

  • wait i didn't understande u can u repley and give me full instuctions please ; )

  • i have a ipod video classic of 80GB and i doesnt play the music it stays on 0:00 seconds doenst record tthe songs.

if someone knows how to fix this please response me please!!!

  • mine shuts down and restarts......

    Making me mad!

  • mine does that too, its stuck on disk mode though, and i;ve tried restoring it a couple of times, but it still has the same problem

  • u dumbass u formated it to a different windows format now u have to open itunes and reformat to normal...

  • I think u need a new intelligent board froe ur iPod. They are about $100 and to replace ur intelligent board it is not that hard. If ur iPod is still under the warenty u can still contact apple and get ur ipod fixed, but if not get someone u know to fix it or look up how to on youtube

  • mine i was puting in new music and all of a sudden it turns off and can;t turn it back on i plug it into the computer my computer restiger it but itunes don;t and still turn off when i do plug it or recharge it

  • that happend to mee :@

    you can't fix it :/

go to a apple store and if your warranty has not expired they will give you another ipod for free

if you warranty already expired give them your broken ipod and they will give you a new one like half price

    (:

  • to fix this hold the play/pause and the select button for a few seconds. This will put the ipod into disk mode. Go to itunes and restore the ipod. Thats how i fixed mine.

  • Mine is doing that too!! It wont even switch off. what do i do???

  • restore it immediatly then turn it on and off leave it off for 2 hours at least

    try that

  • hi my dads ipod wont tearn off for some reason all the other buttuons work can u help?

  • I have that problem too!

  • the exact, and i mean exact same thing just happened to me.

lol i made an identical video

    =)

  • k well at the end it says hook up to power right/? so then plug it into ur comp. ur ipod will prob freeze but then jusst restart it! thats what I did...

  • All your ipods are fucked, like mine. I took mine apart today and discovered quite a bit...Finger prints and marker and such. Anyways the Hardrive which fucks everything up is by Toshiba, im currently ordering a usb cable for the hard drive itself so i can use it as an external hard drive. If it doesnt work then thats alot of money down the drain :(

  • THE SAME SHIT HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!

    how do i fix it?

  • my ipod wont let me put music on it, it dont even show up

  • I agree with u. My 80gb ipod used to work on my computer, now when I plug it in it will not show up. I can charge it in my car but it will not work on my computer or laptop.

  • Don't Worry About My Last Quote, Now Been Set Back To 'Apple'

  • I Have Put My iPod Into 'Disk Mode' And Update + Restored My iPod, Yet It Says Rebooting In 11..10..9.. Then When It Goes Off, The iPod Doesn't Reboot It Just Keeps Restarting Again.. Any Help, Please Message Me =[

  • hi guys even i am getting same problem

  • Has anyone one worked out how to sort this? Mines been doing it for a while now and im actually contemplating smashing it to fucking pieces :P

  • hook up the sync cord and a battery logo will appear to show that its charging. keep looking at ur ipod. it wont be long (about ten min. maybe) before the apple logo appears. as soon as that happens hold center play/pause to put your ipod back in disk mode. the itunes menu should now say that it senses an ipod in recovery mode. just press restore an let the magic happen. everything should be great again (sorry for the long post)

  • Just wondering, when you say "restore", does that mean it sets it back to the factory settings, or will your music and all your other stuff still be on there after the restore?

    Thanks!

  • dunno if u already got an answer but only the music put in by ur specific library can be put back in. restore sets to factory settings

  • first just attach your ipod to your computer and hold down menu and center to reboot again (yes while its already rebooting) immediately after it reaches the apple logo hold down center and play/pause to put it into disk mode. then go to restore ipod in the itunes menu (your ipod should've appeared). while it's restoring your ipod, yank out the sync cord (trust me). just drain your battery while still in disk mode. when ur battery is finally drained, (continued)

  • yo sup, ok i've been workin with my ipod classic for three days trying to figure how to solve my same exact problem. did u update any apple software on your computer recently. if u did then that could also be part of the problem. with the new ipod classics they lock up and go into infinite restart loops after attempting to perform a simple sync.

I fixed my problem an i bet this will fix yours too..... (continued)

  • the same thing is happening to mine right now :/

  • same thing is happenin ti mine....but now i tried holding menu and center button for 30 secs.....and now its even worse

  • My ipod is doing the same thing, have you found an answer on how to fix this? I getting tired of this I don't know what to do. I've tryed restoring it to its original config. and did not work.

  • dude its doing all this b itsself. i've tried to restart it

  • reboot that bad boy should be ok then
