Any where there arent alot of lights around you can see stars really good. In most cases you need a special camera to pick up extra light making the stars more visible. Or if your camera has an option to keep the shutter open do that just dont move it once youve started.

Shooting stars hardly last a full second in the sky, and a time-laps video like this probably wouldn't pick them up at all, certainly not as the video suggests. Meteors don't take an hour to move across the sky. But for this video to be real, the time frame of each of those streaks would be an hour or so!

um, not professionally, but I took a few astronomy classes, and I've watched these meteor showers myself. And I have relatives who do time-lapse photography as a hobby.

Even the slowest moving meteors I've seen were still too fast to be recorded like this. Judging by how much the stars moved, during the time of each streak. Something just doesn't seem right about this video to me. Or at least something is confusing here.

I've seen satellites move that slowly, but not meteors.

I could be wrong.

Look, I admit I could be wrong about the time-lapse thing. It's just too hard to judge the time-frame of these meteors, in such a video.

What I do know, is that I sat outside for 3 hours in the middle of the night, almost every day of the Perseid showers last month, and saw hundreds of meteors. The vast majority of them never lasted beyond a second, short bursts, and only 2 or 3 streaked across the whole sky, lasting a couple seconds.

Only things slow moving I saw, were satellites or planes.
