  • .....great !!!!!

  • I love the Hammond organ! Great sound. Sets Deep Purple apart from other rock bands. Something different. The Honorable Jon Lord has left Purple. Dude could play the expletive deleted out of an organ/keyboards. PURPLE REIGN.

  • AMAZING DUDE !

    Where is APRT 2 !!!

  • Hey! Great sound and nice played :D I was just wondering, did you lurn this by ear or do you have a note sheet?? if so, could you tell me were you got it? :D

  • That's always great to listen to.

  • Perfectly played! So magic...

  • Perfectly played! Sooo magic....

  • hey did u use a marshall amp too like Lord did..or you get the sound from the organ it self?

  • That's from the organ itself, no marshall. I've now got it hooked up to a 145 though, and sounds great.

    Cheeers

  • F minor blues scale

  • Fantastic! Do you have/know where to get the SHEET MUSIC for what you just played, etc... THANKYOU!

    \m/_

  • Takes me back old friend :)

  • Nice job I like the tone, try and put a longer session on? Thanks

  • that was amazing!

  • how can you get that sound?

  • Plenty of overdrive!!

    I think i used 886400468 drawbar setting

  • @geezkeys 886400000 is more like it

  • @ividelcuervodel97 Jon Lord did it by feeding his B-3 direct into a Marshall stack rather than through a Leslie speaker, as most B-3 players do.

  • @ividelcuervodel97 If i'm not mistaken he used to plug his hammond directly into a guitar amp.

  • @SavageDutchman In early years yes, e.g. "Into The Fire" or "Highway Star" in EARLY perfomances. Later on he used modified Leslies (more powerful) also in e.g. "Highway Star"

  • @ividelcuervodel97 instead of connecting it to the lesly amp (like he did in the beginning) he often connected it to the Marshall amps (I saw him use a newschool JCM in some documentary last week)

  • how much does this organ cost..??

  • It was close to £2000 (UK) a couple of years ago but I think it's gone up in price since then. Worth every penny though!

  • Good!!!

  • Fuckyeah! *-*

  • I loved it :D

  • exactly the same as on the disc...really good job

  • Wonderfull!!!

  • Very Cool, But, Why didn't You Use the Expression Pedal?? : /

  • Haven't got an expression pedal yet....they cost about £180 here! Its first on the list tho

as an amateur keyboard player, i have to say it`s always very nice to see awesome keyboard players like you playing on this kind of videos. this is really helpful for people like me, that learn keyboard by itself. usually you just find awesome rock video lessons and this kind of stuff for guitars.

    thanks and post more, man!

  • this sound is amazing

  • Well Done! Very nice!

    Sounds nearly authentic =)

I'm trying to lean this one too on my XK3c, do you know a place on the internet where i can find proper sheet music for Deep Purple(and Uriah Heep if possible) songs?

I've been searching for a long time, but it's all sheet music for the guitar and drums.

And as i said before: Well Done! I'm really impressed by the authenticity, by far the best sounding performance on YT i've heard.

  • Thanks for the compliment.

You can get sheet music for Deep Purple stuff on the net but it doesn't normally have intro's and solo's, and its mainly guitar tabs, as you say. I also saw a couple of the organ solo's in guitar player a few years ago.

You can find some of it though. I managed to find some bits, but I learn all of the organ parts from ear. It's good practice!

  • awesme man, i now know that there are players as good as jon lord

  • Buddy really nice cove,r cong..!

  • Very nice! Do you use a leslie with your xk3c and if so which type?

  • Yeah I use a vintage 145 with my XK. You can't beat it! Also use a speakeasy preamp with it sometimes too. Its also tube driven. Gives a nice warm, authentic overdrive.

  • Very nice! Tutorial PLEASE!!

  • When I get some free time I'll post one up. Thanks for the comment.

  • Awesome! Could you make a tutorial to this one? :D i love your skills and machine

  • Awesome dude, I know all the guitar parts for that song

  • very gooooooooood!!!!!!!

  • very gooooooood!!!!!

  • I bow down to your fingers and the left side of your brain, cool.

  • Well SMART!!!!

  • fantastic!

  • Very Good!

  • Check out my solo on the xk3c at a local blues jamm ...I have no idea who these cats are I'm playin with..I'm the bald headed fart on the left

  • how much does the Hammond XK3c cost ??

  • I paid £1700 from my tech/dealer, but I know him well. It retails in the UK at about £1999. Although in the US and some other places its a bit cheaper...but then there's shipping, depending on where you live. Custom built flight case was £150. Cheers

  • Very cool, I just ordered th xk3c and its sittin at my bro's house.. LONG AWAITED

Hammond.. I use to carry around an M3

in my first band back in the 70's.. Eclipse.. Hawthorne High Ca. cant get over the warm grindin overdrive.. well done!!

  • Well done!

  • Hey man, Jon would smile and shake Your hand!!

    Congratulations, fantastic!!!!

  • Fuckin, excellent Bro, A couple of mistakes but you seem like a player that will work on those till they,re gone. How would it sound with two Marshalls hooked up and turned aalllll the way up??

  • Just bought a new XK3c, and you have really excited me to its possibilities! And, GREAT playing Dude. Been a D.P. afficionado since "Mandrake Root" and you definatly have the goods! Hope to hear more from you! Rock on!

  • Tech aside you nailed it dude. Well done !

  • that was AWESOME!

  • didn't really know that the new hammond series can sound so nice, well played also.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaawsome

  • Drawbar settig please ?

  • I think it was 888800000, but will need to double check

  • Thanks.

  • Yeah, you got it. 25years ago we should have met, cause i did the same on guitar copying exactly Blackmore's parts...

    cheers Jörg B.

  • Hey Geez...

    Great sound!!!!

  • Being a big DP fan, I must say that was pretty impressive! It was just like hearing the original!

  • Incredible man! How much that Hammond cost?

  • Here in the UK they are £1999, although I got mine for £1700 cos I know my Hammond dealer/Tech. Cheaper in the states obviously. Doubt you'd find a 2nd hand one yet. Worth every penny tho.

  • I bet! The sound these Hammonds give off are perfect and beautiful i would choose a Hammond over any other organ. Do you consider them hard to maintain?

  • That one wouldn't be hard to maintain because it's a new XK3C (not an actual tonewheel).

I have a 1960 Hammond M3 (bought it for $350) and it works great. Just keep it clean and oil it once a year and it should be fine. I've thought about replacing some of the capacitors, but that's not strictly necessary.

  • This Hammond XK-3C is maintenance free, its the newest technology by Hammond-Suzuki. Digital sampling and functions etc but going through valve tube preamps. I chose this over a vintage Hammond because I gig a lot and I can lift this myself. I also use this with Speakeasy Vintage Tube Preamp running into a vintage Leslie 145. My Hammond dealer/tech reckons very few people can actually tell the difference between this XK-3C going through a vintage 122/145 and a B3/C3.

  • if u choose a digital like this xk3 then its easy to maintain :) but to maintain a real tonewheel hammond is not that hard, u have to oil it once every year. but it becomes expensive if something gets broken.

  • Wow, amazing!! I need to get that good!!!

  • Nice done!
