how come tyr on my game didnt turn into this monster? the game ended with just us leaving to rebuild towns

Lol. Yeah... It is a boring, anticlimactic boss fight when one uses Agni through the entire thing, even back in the SNES version. She can't even inflict triple digits of damage to Agni, in that one.

Hmm. I didn't know that there was a GBA version of one, I bought number 2 for it though. Can honestly say that the.. whole layout of the menu for Breath of Fire 1, looks MUCH worse in my opinion on the GBA. Giant block in the way of actually looking at the boss )=. Anywho, interesting watch! I know that whenever I play it on my SNES, my characters are generally around 23 plus or minus 3-4 levels dependings on what I've done when I reach Tyr. but then again. I just poke her with Agni to win ;3.

Not any more boring than having Ryu transform into Agni and poke the boss while being totally invincible, I'd say. And I can tell you I wasn't bored at all when I did this.

I wish you had done this on the SNES version. The music is terrible in the GBA version. Other than that, very very nice.

i musta done this at level 23-24, its hard getting high level on this though i found a new system(its not going well) level 10 before frog, level 20 before general, instead i went level 8 frog level 10 general.. not really to plan : (

Final boss at lv. 24 is hard too... unless you're using fusions/dragons.

You fought the easy, "fake" boss then. Still, an achievement at those levels (again, assuming no fusions/dragons).

@MoogleBoss i didnt fuse or use dragons, mainly no dragons cause i thought ryu was stronger, this is a game i should play again though, i should get another copy of it so i can make more files!

Heh,I did this fight at LVL. 99 (tooook a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry loooooooong time) and was pretty easy though.I still wish I would be able to play it again.I tried with an emulator but the zsnes is shitty and freezes the game after first world map battle.>_<

Why would I need a DragonSD or a Tri-Rang when Emperor Sword gives you like 100 more attack?

The levels are low because I wanted a challenge.

No Agni? What do I do at 1:30 to make the real boss appear then?

Agni was summoned to cause the strongest form of the boss to appear, after which the party faced her without any transformations or dragons.

It's all in the video, and you wouldn't be making any of these odd assumptions if you actually watched it before commenting.

I have three questions:

Wouldn't a faster character (Ryu, as an example) be a better candidate for the Earth Robe, rather than Ox?

Can't you ever buy Life2 items, or do too many just make the battle too easy?

Wouldn't it be better for Ox to use an Mrbl1 in the front row at full HP? I understand why you have to keep him in the back row, but I'd think he'd go past barely 300 to near 400 in the front.

Also, hard final boss is hard.

The boss has an ACT stat of 200, I believe, and nobody can go faster than her. Not even Karn given all Agility increase items you get in chests.

The Earth Robe is probably best attached to a character who can't survive a physical attack, like Nina or Bo. Then as long as they're alive you won't need to worry how much HP they have, because Comet will heal and an attack will kill regardless. But it's the best armour out there and it gives Ox better chances to withstand a physical attack.

About Life2 items, they are not sold in shops, I'm afraid. I had 13 or so by having opened all the chests during the storyline and I don't think I've missed any. But yes, with infinite Life2 items victory is essentially guaranteed.

As for the row dilemma with Ox, I thought about this as well. Being put in the front row, he dies more often (strangely, he sometimes survives even in the front). Now, while the difference in damage dealt is small, losing Ox usually leads to serious complications.
