Israel agreed to ease the blockade letting in more aid supplies and building materials if Hamas agreed that it would not build up its millitary during this time and understanding that they would be held responsible for any rocket attacks coming from the strip. Israel broke the cease fire with a couple of attacks and the constant blockade that denied food,medicine to gaza, not to mention Israel controls whether Gaza has electricity or not. Hamas said enough is enough and started firing rockets at Israel and of course that's exactly what Israel wanted to justify their brutal miltary invasion. israel wants to destroy Hamas because they are not bought and paid for like mahmud Abaas ever since arafat was murdered although he was corupt to some extent.

Israel said enough is enough and started enforcing a blockade, and then Hamas stepped up the rocket attacks and started firing thousands of rockets again so Israel Moved in.

That is a huge drop from over 1000 but they still never fully respected the cease fire. They immediately went back to their strategy of plausible deniability. They fired only a hundful of rockets so that nobody could "prove" that those rockets were from Hamas when really the whole world knows that the only group with Iranian/Syrian rockets in Gaza is Hamas
