  • now that studio pro 3 is out, which do you prefer- 2.5 or 3?

  • @animation508 Even though I own version 3, I still use 2.5 because that's what I'm familiar with :) Version 3 looks great!

  • i need help! When i am painting it goes over the outline not under...how can i fix this?

  • why did you use artrage and not photoshop to color?

  • @mysbeautiful1 I really like the painting tools in ArtRage much better than in Photoshop. ArtRage gives me a natural-paint texture that I really love -- and it's by far the easiest program to use for this kind of natural-media look.

  • @CartoonSNAP Is Artrage a free program?

  • Help please I have ArtRage but I don't have the paintbrush, all I have is Oil Brush, Water Colour and other stuff

  • Artrage also has a pen tool yes? When you size down the pen tool can you still see it or does it become hard to see?

  • @shoujoluvr707 I think you can make the pen pretty big...especially in the new version 3

  • How did you make a color swatch??

  • How to get the linear !??!?!! did u how ? :P ?

  • I want to learn how to change colors of something in art rage 2! can someone please make a vid on it! I especially need help with changing the lips!

  • Sir, you are a godsend for tips and tricks. Please post more! :D

  • Hi angelapocaliptiko...I have found that ArtRage won't open a PSD file if it is in CMYK mode. Try changing it to RGB mode and try opening it in Photoshop again. Let me know how it works out!

  • it worked.. well.. kinda...

ArtRage opened the PSD after i saved it in RGB mode.... BUT! when i add a new layer underneath the drawing layer, i cant see what im painting... its the same that happened to me when i loaded an JPG file... it just shows the drawing as a whole.... no transparencies.

P.S.: sorry if my english is not very good... it isnt my first languaje hehe

  • Hi angelapocaliptiko...I'm glad to know that converting to RGB worked! Now I hope this next tip does, too...

When you imported your drawing, ArtRage probably put it on the lowest layer and gave it a paper background.

...so TRY THIS: On your imported Drawing layer, go to "Edit Paper Settings" and near the bottom of the options dial the "paper opacity" (NOT the layer opacity) to 0%

That oughtta do it. I hope!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU and a thousand times THANK YOU!!!! hehehe

    that did the trick =D

i ended painting my drawing on photoshop because i didn't see your reply till now though hehehe... it looks pretty awesome =D

but yout tips will help me next time hehe

    so again... THANX!!! =D

  • and thank you for replying so fast hehe =]

  • how did you get the layers to also be included? because i tried saving my drawing as a psd file but ArtRage just won't open it. So I saved it as a jpg files, but it saved it with a white background, so you can't see the paint layer below the image.

P.S.: thnx for uploading this... im just starting in this drawing thing, so these tutorials have been very useful to me hehe =]
