Looks like Ryan Newman was just a few inches away from death. Had Edwards car landed a little higher and gone through Newmans windshield, it would have been a tragedy.

No.... the fence didn't hold up. He was lucky enough to fly low enough to hit the concrete wall. If Carl went any higher the 99 car would be in the stand killing tons of people.

@w39ro dude you are fuking retarded he was above the wall do you need to pause the fuckin video to see he hits THE FENCE not THE WALL if he hit the wall the peaces of the fence wouldnt have been flying everywhere so the fence held up and his car didnt go through it which means it was succesful

for all you dumbasses out there: nascar did nothing wrong. the fence did its job and protected the fans. this is racing at talledega, its close and wild, thats what makes it so fun to watch. no one wants to watch 43 cars run around a 2.6 mile track all spread out and single for 4 hours. and finally these drivers get paid ALOT of money to run these cars, they know the danger; this isnt supposed to be all easy and gentle, its a contact sport so get over it and stop your bitching.

just got home from talladega and couldnt wait to post something, and yes thank god for the fence! but the cant pass below the double line is sooo stupid and today Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman and God knows how manys fans could have seriously got hurt or killed.way to go NASCAR!
