hey i was wondering how we could do this if we dont have the um rosetip thingy u know the thing u drop in the piping bag to get that design? i was making cupcakes and i wanted the icing on top to look rrly cool so how could i do it without that tip thing?
@ceciveggie It's probably buttercream. Royal icing dries harder than buttercream and is used somewhat differently - at least in my experience, so don't quote me on that. xD
how do you make your icing that constancy and keep it like that? When I make buttercream icing and pip it doesn't hold its shapee. Or tends to melt abit. Please helpp lol
When doing a garland border you would actually divide your cake evenly into 6ths or 8ths by putting a small dot of white icing at each of the peaks and in the center of the drop to make sure it's even. A garland guide, available from Wilton, will help create even borders.
you cannot deny that she is a bit sloppy/rushing. you can tell by the fluidity of her movements that she is experienced and talented and offers great tips. i'm sure she is more precise when decorating for clients
alot of you people are beng mean im not saying everyone but everyone who said she was doing sloppy im sure you cant do it any better then she did and the video was very helpful
You'd think she would use viva paper towels so that the design doesn't show. I'd be like wtf? If I got a cake and it had a paper towel imprint on it. Try seriouscake's channel. She's not a pro, but her smooth icing video is way better imho.
I know, but I said that because the paper towel seems to be her choice and a smooth paper towel as opposed to the one she used would yield a more professional look. Thank you tho! I have only been able to try smoothing once using something and I intend on trying parchment paper next to see which one I like best.
im not trying to be mean....but it is alittle sloppy, but who's gunna do there very best for a video on youtube? and also she has to do it slowly to show you HOW to do it....normally shed be done by now so all those who say it sucks just shutup
all this other ppl keep on bitchin about what she did wrong lets see you make a video smarty pants.I think her video is good because she did everything slow and explained everything carefully for beginners its good
I agree with you Blkcat101 she's greaaaaaat!!!!!1 better than the class I paid for.

You can use the same technique, but use wax or parchment paper instead of a paper towel. That's the way I was taught.
