I liked the end. Ever watch documentaries (or live leak footage) on bears/lions eating people? its horrifying. Its often not an instant death but a drawn out mauling in which the victim is quite alive and screaming. Seconds seem to be an eternity for an end that is unmercifully slow in arriving. How could anyone allow their child to meet such a gristly end, when they have the means of an instant painless escape? I loved the ending, it stays with you, because the despair is tangible.

Alcavexus the reason he killed them was because he thought he heard those bug things in the distance, so instead of letting his family and friends get brutally murdered by these creatures, he and they decided to make a suicide pact to get out faster, however there was 5 people and 4 bullets so he killed everyone including his own son, then he waited for the bugs to come, yet what came was infact the army and the survivors, which is why the song gets to your heart so easy
