With the help of king Anachack Champassack who was his son, He staged an independant war against Siam in 1829, but lost in 1832. He was captured & tortured for a few years and died there.

  • What kind of famous people please explain ?

  • Popular famous people. Alive or dead. I found some famous people, I have trouble with some. Who is Chao Anou andmonarch Sethathirat?

  • @LaoOnline Yes, all of them were traditional Babylonism far more than ancient India. There is nothing new for the Hi tech system. I am sorry for mentioning this. But it's good for funny

  • I beleive life is to short to be Neagtive and hatred and unhappy person.

You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger."

    Peace!!

    Have a good day everyone!

  • Here is more quote:

"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become."

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without."

Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared."

  • Here is more quote: I hope everyone understsand the meaning:

Beware of the anger of the mind, and control thy mind! Leave the sins of the mind, and practise virtue with thy mind!

Let us live happily then, not hating those who hate us! among men who hate us let us dwell free from hatred!

Let us live happily then, free from greed among the greedy! among men who are greedy let us dwell free from greed!

  • Here is my favorite i would like to share to everyone:. Beware of bodily anger, and control thy body! Leave the sins of the body, and with thy body practise virtue!

Beware of the anger of the tongue, and control thy tongue! Leave the sins of the tongue, and practise virtue with thy tongue!

  • I'm hmong and born here in the states but my parents were from Laos. When asked where I'm from I say U.S.A. Hmongs in general are peaceful folk who live as farmers near the mountains of Laos and are friends w/the Laotians. Don't let all this political nonsense ruin the peace between us. SnidChan is a communist and is probably typing all of his nonsense from Laos. Every southeast asian living here knows that communist is evil. Increase the peace get rid of the hate and pride.

  • every laos person add me!!!

  • sabaidee

i juz came bak from a backpacking travel in northern laos.

its an amazing beautiful country, and good friendly people. wld love to go back there in the near future.(not enough time spent there..:P)

safety is up to individuals really. nothing to do with nationality nor ethnicity.

  • i am from Laos and i have nothing against other ethnic groups...it really comes down to the individual, not where they are from...

  • I'm Lao and have Hmong friends.. we get along well. Take it easy, relax.

  • im not laos but i love laos people! my bestfriend is a laos!

  • image inoubliable vive le laos bravo

  • Laos is a wonderful place to backpack! I traveled Vientienne and South, toured the Bolaven Plateau and ended at Si Phan Don. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful country.

  • Man, I am so proud of you laoOnline. Nice arrangement. My family and I fleed to USA in 1980 when I was 20. Now I am 48 meaning I live 2 lifes. I have not abandoned Laos, my birth place. I praise for long life Laos. But my Lao fellow, watch out for the ennemy of state (VP & his gang) is trying to kill innocent Lao people, destroy historic properties and take over Laos. Don't let that happen to us. Laos to be Laos.

  • yo man i miss home

  • i wonder how safe it is to travel there..

  • Yes it is safe to travel in Laos. But you have to be extra carefull. Go in group or with someone you know or trust. When you go Northern part of Laos. Watch out for those Hmong bandits. They will shoot and kill you to get your money and valuable items.

  • yea..thats what i was wondering about...i have frnds in thailand and when i told them about my desire to visit laos, they were kinda taken aback..they said that one of their frnd was robbed in broad daylight and it is not that safe..but when you think about it, no country is

  • I spent a month there, and spoke to many travellers when there... I found it no more dangerous than any other country in the region. Just avoid the areas that are known to have problems.

I think it is all down to luck, or lack of it whether anything bad hapens to you.

I got robbed at machete point in Indonesia, but it is my favourite country and love it. Shit happens.

  • I Love Laos

  • 1st song = awesome. I wish I could figure out all of what they are talking about.

Awesome video, keep up the good work.

  • Interesting, but you had the texts go by too quickly. If you meant for people to read it then you should have had it for a duration of at least 5 to 10 seconds long.

  • You can click on pause when you want to read certain clip .

  • This is a very informative view of Laos.
