I think he messes up on the first bar of the two bar pattern at 2:37. By messing up, I mean he plays one mind-blowing fill for the first repetition of the first bar of the two bar pattern, and he plays a slightly different mind blowing fill on the first bar of the second repetition. The second rep has a crossover of his hands on the first bar while the first rep doesnt. Still amazing fills!

dude, form improv is not about playing something, then playing the exact same thing again and then go on to play something completely different and repeating that... it's about taking an idea and developing it into new ideas, based on the first one... check out max roach for that kind of playing!
