  • my friends have complemented for my photography skills..but I don't have an SLR..guys please suggest a good one.

  • you got ripped off mate

  • D3100 is for pussies. D7000 is too fucking expensive. D5100 is perfect.

  • Nice!

  • I think the Canon 600D gives you 60fps...

  • Dude, i have the same lens as you, and mines from like 1995 hahah

  • Do you have to have a VR lens? or is it possible to not have it?!

  • @DeSmurfen125 You can have a non VR lens for sure. They are often cheaper.

  • @davomrmac That's great! :D That means I can use my dad's lenses ;D

because he mentioned I have to buy a body only and I can use his lenses XD

  • This is the best review of the Nikon D5100. By far.

  • @jpschubbs Thank you.

  • This video really helped me a lot! I've been looking at maybe getting this camera in a few months when I had the money but I was sort of unsure if I was ready for this kind of camera, but now I know I can handle it. Thank you for this!

  • @masakarasunokaasu Thank you for watching.

  • every video i click on there is always a british person reviewing it

  • Can u customize how the info screen looks?

  • @Smalskin No that is determined by the mode you are in.

  • @Smalskin Although having said that, I think there may be some customisation.

  • Thanks for the reply. Up to what Gig of SD card will it support?

  • @radenvi 64GB.

  • Dave the Nikon D5100 does not have manual exposure when it comes to taking video.

  • that nikon will make anyone look cool

  • Seems fairly tiny, to be fair. I assume Nikon has a battery pack available for it?

  • @Chokoretokukki No battery pack for this one.

  • @davomrmac That's utterly surprising. It will be a truly horrific experience having a longer lens on it, then (like you said in the video)...

  • will you use this camera to film your reviews from now on? :D if not, can you make a review with it to see how it performs in comparison with your current camera? :)

  • @MrTmd747 Yes, I will be publishing the Q&A on DailyTechTV tomorrow recorded with this and the built in mic. This will be followed by more samples.

  • Does Canon Lenses work with this device ?

  • @TheKRNG What do u think.... a Nikon body with a canon lens :S no, that dont work, it's like day and night :P

  • @tint93 You are wrong sir. Nikon lenses work with canon cameras however canon lenses do not work with Nikon cameras

  • @InvidiousTech Noooo, are u serious? Oke, i dodn'r know that =D

  • @TheKRNG Nikon lenses work with canon cameras however canon lenses do now work with Nikon cameras

  • @TheKRNG Nikon lenses work with canon cameras however canon lenses do not work with Nikon cameras

  • You could of got this body only £529 on digitalrev website

  • sweet!

  • Wow. I have no idea what most of those settings do. Even my Nikon Coolpix P100 is too much for me. I've never bothered to learn what the options do.

  • I hope you can compare it with the canon 600d, thanks

  • Seems a lot like my Nikon D3100.

  • t3i is better for video, more controls

  • NEVER MIND! haha. great review! i commented before i saw you point it out

  • does it have a microphone input???????? that is what i need in a camera

  • @julianh100 Yes it does a 3.5mm input.

  • hey i just saw your son's video unboxing of the 3ds! he is just like u lol

  • I know you reviewed the t2i and you get a sense of the t3i because they are very similar. I was wondering which one is better for both video and photography since I am on a medium budget for a dslr

  • @TechnomTigerGeek To early to say really, I am liking this a lot though.

  • @TechnomTigerGeek The t2i has 18 mpx while the D5100 has lower, the picture resolution is also higher on the t2i. For video the t2i crushes the D5100 :)

  • the 16-85 is a great lens... @davomrmac do you agree?

  • @nazhif1 Totally agree, awesome build quality and great optically too.

  • Got and hot pixels on you images at higher ISO ?

  • @spearmintmonkey Nope.

  • Does this use auto-focus in video mode?

    Many thanks

  • @J273 Yes it does, auto and continual.

  • comparison with the 600d?? :)

  • If given the choice, ignoring the price, would you get this camera or the Canon 60D for both stills and video? Thanks in advance :)

  • @UrDadIsBent88 I would get this one as it at least attempts continual autofocus during video. I would still primarily consider a DSLR for photos first and video as a secondary function for sure.

  • @davomrmac Great! I might end up getting this one because of your review and also you are right. The auto focus may help me a lot! Thanks.. Keep up the good videos :D

  • Copy of Canon 550D. No one can compare with Canon.

  • @amitpatels007

Go be a fanboy somewhere else. Nikon makes excellent DSLR's.

  • What camera did you use to record this video? Are you going to use the D5100 to record future videos?

  • @joethetechiewiipsp I used the Panasonic SD700, will be using the Nikon D5100 to record next Tuesday's Q&A on DailyTechTV.

  • @davomrmac Great! Thanks for the reply! :) I have a question, do you own a Blue Microphone?

  • @joethetechiewiipsp No not at the moment, using my Audio Technica AT2020USB.

  • How does this compare to the 60d?

  • @adamsbil1 The Canon 60D is more comparable to the features of the Nikon D7000 (though the D7000 does not have an articulated screen). The 60D is better specced than the Nikon D5100 for photography, though video is more or less the same.

  • Aren’t YOU SHOCKED THAT D5100 does not offer MANUAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS DURING VIDEO????? (((((((

  • @DNAcodeDNA - I know! they really need to catch up!

  • Awesome! The d5000 was an amazing entry level D-SLR and this one looks like a great upgrade! How do you think it compares to the Canon 550d?

  • @thetechnoexpert very similar offer to the 550D and 600D, video quality is slightly more natural, love the controls. Build quality about the same. Hard choice. I like the Nikon lens line-up a bit more, which would sway my decision.

  • Just a question, Do you have any old (but decent) cameras you don't use any more that you would be willing to sell?

  • @jakrushman none at the moment, but thanks for asking.

  • Really nice camera , would you please make a video with some "Tips&Tricks" & "Hints" on how to take some good photos , or some basics on photography plz ... Thanks In Advance

  • Nice tour mate

  • Good job. Whats it like compared to D3100?

  • @SharpeysSkits never used that model.

  • @FormidableTutorials Panasonic HDC-SD700.

  • Canon is T3i is better.

  • great camera, and great video, hey dave, where's the unboxing of the camera??

  • @linweisean No unboxing this time.

  • @davomrmac why not?, i'll bet everyone wants to see an unboxing of this magnificent piece of kit.

  • @linweisean It arrived on my birthday, it is for production & I deserved a day off… or so I was told by 500+ tweeters ;) lol. Thanks for commenting.

  • i like boobs

  • OMG a beast of DSLR im struggling already with the settings with D3100... Still need more practice. Great review

  • @emkwan Thanks for watching & commenting.

  • Great video!

  • @TechReview4You Cheers.

  • Lovely looking camera :) and great video :)

  • @Theworldoftechuk Thanks for watching.
