nice pond you can take it to the NEXT level, with awesome lighting. just go to a professional garden lighting company and it will make that pond evvvveeen more nice
Thanks for not overstocking , I see so many poor over crowded fish it sadly reiminds me of the inner city , your fish are clearly livin it up in the "burbs".
Here's an idea (that's probably near impossible), Have a pond on the second floor (if and where space is available) and have the bottom of the tank made of glass so you can see the fish swimming over you when your on the first floor.
@1989beatlesTetra Bio-Active Pressure Filter NO UV Since the pond never sees sun light it doesn't need much filtration. I run the pump and water fall for a hour every other hour to save on electricity. Water is always crystal clear. But I only have 4 fish in 2500 gallons. That also helps.
@maw1000 You should still run a UV light. UV will kill aeromonas, in which is something that you can't see, and can really mess up your pond/koi. And just because it doesn't see sunlight doesn't mean it needs less filtration. Your fish are still putting off the same amount of waste regardless of sun or not. Algae (which you can see in your video) still grows as well without natural sunlight. A UV is crucial for your pond. You will eventually start seeing issues on your koi. :(
I'd love to do a mini sort of version of this in my room. I've yellow belly turtles so they'll stay very small. So something like this (but smaller and cheaper) would be great.
i have a gar in my pond, mating toads jumped in and the gar ate them, the next few weeks i see 10000000000000000000000 tadpoles in my pond next 2 weeks toads every square centimeters in my yard
@tjh41701 not everyone that does a such thing is rich man, how do you know for certain that this couple didnt save up for five or ten years in preparation of this pond? dont be so immature because you dont have the time money nor space to complete such a project. its called appreciation not hatertation buddy.
@tjh41701 and kudos maw1000, i almost thought that was a jacuzzi tub or something, very nice setup and beautiful koi, the ohaku? i think its called is absolutely beautiful, i clicked back to the fish part of the vid three times lol
i see you sacrifice a door to put that pond there. would it be fucker if the other door was blocked and that was your only way into the back, you would then find it a struggle trying to remove that 'pond'. lol
@slapurmommaz Thats good :) Right now I have a couple of gold fish, a black more and a koi in a 30 gallon and I know that isn't big enough but I don't want them to be outside. So I am going to make an inside one. I'd also like to see them all grow to there full size
very nice, i'm actually looking to build something similar but I want to do so on the main floor of my house and i'm not sure about how much weight it safe. any tips?
@ILiekFrieRice It cost me around $6,000 I was already building the room so the extra concert work was about $3,000 and the rest was the liner filter and plants. I already had the rocks and waterfall from my last pond.
@maw1000 wow you already had the rocks and waterfall and they still got you for 6k huh : ) I'm in the wrong line of work I tell ya. That is an excellent pond though, very nice work. Your fish have a nice home
@sarolikia There is no fish smell but in the summer there is a musty smell some times. I installed a whole house fan and just turn that on for 5 mins and its all gone. If I don't turn the whole house fan on after ten mins I can't smell it anymore any ways., you just get use to it fast.
This is the best thing I have ever seen. I added this video to my favourites and I'm showing my boyfriend that this is what we need to do to our house haha.
@supertwilight60 Sorry I dont know what to tell you. For me I just have 4 fish in a 2500 gallon pond and I do very little to the pond. I clean it only once ever couple of years.
@chumchumer12 It cost me around $6,000 I was already building the room so the extra concert work was about $3,000 and the rest was the liner filter and plants. I already had the rocks and waterfall from my last pond.
@maw1000 seeing as you have a pond i am taking a guess thinking you know alot about fish lol could i get a guppy to go with carps, goldfish, comets, shubumpkins and a tench lol?
@ArteolikeIt It gets a little humid in the summer time. but I have a large bathroom fan to suck it out. The floor is Aggregate floor. I love it. you can watch them installing it on my videos.
The light coming from those doors seems to be making algae grow in the water. Keep a close eye on this and possibly install some live plants to deplete the algaes nutrient source.
@1992lance Its hard to say because i built the room and pond at the same time. I would have to guess I spent around $7000 and that includes the plates which were a $1000
