There are some improvements you can make on your gameplay. First off, use Manual instead of Automatic. You control your drifts and have much more precision.
Secondly, you should try doing a trick when going off those jumps, thats why you couldn't reach that item box right after the first bends.
To do a trick, press directional buttons on the D-Pad if your using a Gamecube controller or shake the Wii-Mote.
Also, didn't your mother tell you not to drive on the wrong side of the road. =P
