@chargeme123 In a way. It was that year that really showed t he world what a unique awesome sport it is, but losing Dale alone makes it the worst year ever.
This is one of the reason"s i am a huge Kevin Harvick fan. I can"t think of anyone i would rather have take over for Dale. But Dale choice was Kevin Harvick...I still miss the man in black...
@PepsiLovinRacer24 very doubtful. A majority of those guys have retired or moved onto other positions, including Chocolate Myers who has his own radio show.
I hope that people never forget how hard Kevin worked over the years to keep Dale Sr. memories alive. Not only in this race but his whole time at RCR.
its august 2009 and i still cant watch this video without crying. some people remember where they were when kennedy and mlk jr. were shot i remember where i was the day my hero died. i only wish i could do something this significant in my life.
Man, I had tears of joy rolling down my face this race and when Jeff said that about the Goodwrench car not knowing how to loose it brought the back :).
Neil, Artie, Mike, Larry, and Darrell found the camera pointing at the #29 crew knowing the history. They knew the story of the team like a team that lost a key player coming back.
Only 11 drivers in this field are still racing in 2012 but only 10 are full time

JACOBACKLEY1997 9 months ago
I think only on this day, especially because he won the Championship that year, Jeff Gordon was perfectly fine with running second on that day.

Unless your a Gordon fan, it was a great year but a bad year at the same time, especially if you had enough brains to know Dale was the best.

Get rid of the chase, get the stock cars back and maybe just maybe we'll have as good racing today as we did back then.

I agree. Rockingham, Atlanta, and especially Daytona helped so much with all the pain us fans were feeling that year.
