Whilst im no expert on nuclear stufffs, i have read a document from someone who has been to pripyat on a trip. He was told not to consume any food in the area, due to 'hot' particles which apparently if you ingest one then you're screwed....also there is an area where the helicopters putting out the fires kept landing which apparently is much much higher than the general radiation around the place and if you were to remain in that area for too long then you wouldnt be at all well.

so from my previous statement id imagine the dog may very well die from radiation (its gotta eat)....however im not an expert so i could very well be wrong...

musze Cie zalamac kolego uran nigdy z tamtad nie zniknie ale niebedzie promieniowal a ludzie moga sie wprowadzac juz na obrzeza miasta prypiat, a do prypeci dopiero za 300/600 lat
