  • @latinflavor081 like a buck fifty cents or two bucks...

  • Hey sladewalters what do you do/work for in Japan? Other than teaching, i wanted to do business there.

  • @mikesoccer11 - actually, I lived in Japan for two years, but I left about two years ago. When I lived there I worked for the U.S. Government, so I had a special visa.

  • I just got back from Osaka a couple of weeks ago. That place is awesome and I am going back this year. (also, that is where my girlfriend is from). But dude, you forgot to mention that they also have vending machines with beer and sake. It's true people. Beer 180 yen and a large bottle of osake is 840 yen. It wasn't very top quality alcohol, but I indulged anyway. Just because. Nice video, man.

  • I better start learning Japanese quickly so i don't get lose wondering japan.

  • I went to Japan last year without knowing a simple Japanese word... I spent there two weeks, visiting Tokyo, Osaka, Kamakura, Kyoto, Nara... You don't have to learn Japanese. Almost all signs are in English too. I've started to learn Japanese now :)

  • I know japan does have english sign's but i want to interact with other 23 year old's in Japanese . =) plus it be the most awesome experience for me seeing somewhere new.

  • Hey i was wondering what is japan like and is it hard to learn the languge i really want to explore there one day when im older.

  • Sladewalters I have a question, I'm in college now but I was considering getting a job in Japan after I graduate. If that is remotely possible, how would I get around or even find my apartment or work with my co-workers if I can't speak/read Japanese fluently?

  • You're best bet for getting a job in Japan is teaching English for one of the English teaching schools that seek out native speakers and provide employment and a work visa for a year. The pay isn't great.

  • lol the milk teas's logo looks like weed XD

  • Osaka is one of my favorite cities.

  • @brookchelmo Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • Check out all this bikes... wow^^

    But good video!

  • I miss these things. I used to live in Japan and usually bought drinks from these machines and I onetime bought "Potato Chip" Fries (Yes. They sell food in these.) from one of these machines.

  • That's tight, you're bilingual. I am too: ENglish and Japanese. I was born in Japan so it's kinda cool to see you post this. So many good memories. You have really great pronounciation. Thanks for posting these videos! I enjoy!

  • It's actually really good. Fantas

  • Nice video p.s I subscribed :)

  • I'm sorry I'll never eat cream corn out of a can from a vending machine.

  • so everything you eat in your life through the day is fresh from the cow, fresh from the chicken, fresh from land, vegetables and fruits, and fresh water from a source coming out of a mountain near waterfall, yep, you'll never eat cream corn out of a can, so, why not????

  • Never liked Cream Corn, period.

  • about $1

  • How much is 110 yen in US dollars?

I want some milk tea now.

  • The font is Trajan Pro

  • lol japanese ppl r prolly looking at u like, "Wtf is he doing, video taping an ordinary vending machine?"

  • I was actually with a couple Japanese friends at the time and they were laughing politely.

  • sweet i went there before the place where u were filming the giant crab well actualy the whole neon light place i suppose

  • Do they have vending machines that serve hot food? Like a soba noodle machine?

They have hot food vending machines here in the u.s. but in the machine you showed up there was hot creamed corn.

  • Yes they do. I've seen spaghetti, curry, hamburgers, any kind of noodles, fried rice machines and lots more. I've never tried any of these, though.

  • How long did it take you to learn japanese?

    x

  • FOREVER. Actually, I am not even close to fluent. I have a very limited knowledge. I can order at a restaurant, take a taxi and talk about the weather, that is about it.

  • I just want to say I admire you very much for learning Japanese and working/living there!! You make me look like a "marshmallow"!

#1. Have you seen MXC, do you like it?

#2. Can you please go to a bodybuilding contest and make a video on that(including a visit to a gym)? I like your reporting style!

  • Thanks for the comment. I saw MXC once in the US, it was funny. I'll think about the body building thing.

  • I'm sure you hear MXC in Japanese, the words they use are pretty funny!

I am getting to know about Japanese culture and find it very interesting! Through youtube I've been able to see a few Japanese bodybuilders. I'd love to know how the general public in Japan is accepting bodybuilders. I've noticed that travel shows on TV always deal with the same topics when they focus on a country and I'm very much bored with that, which is why your vending machine story appealed to me!

  • Gyun-nyu... isn't that 'milk'?

  • Yes.

  • I just got the question. You mean, why does it say miruku instead of gyuu-nyu. Well, that is one of many strange occurances in Japanese with regards to foreign things. Cream or milk for coffee or tea is referred to generically as miruku. Gyuu-nyu would be the kind you drink straight or add to a recipe. Don't ask me why. Rice in a bowl is Gohan but rice on a plate is raisu. Seriously.

  • Hehe, interesting. Thank you for clearing that up.

  • Your Japanese pronounciation is AWESOME :]

  • Yes, I know. My japanese friends rag me about that, too. I was exaggerating the pronunciation of atakkai intentionally.

  • I don't mean it sarcastic! It really is good ^^

  • Oh, well then, thanks! I guess I'm a bit too sensitive.

  • bedio wo arigatou gozaimasu. Royal milk tea is even my favorite. ... Man I miss Japan

  • great man, im hopefully off to osaka in august, i will definitely browse the vending machines :)

  • i went there too it is very cool

    i miss it

  • is it true you can buy used girls panties in those things 0.o...... those japanesies are wierd

  • hot royal milk tea is my favorite too

  • Hey, very cool video. Big Shout out to Poko-san, one of the coolest dudes I ever met in Japan.

  • Awesome video! Nice production values. I love Japanese vending machines! Another cool thing about that vending machine is that you can use you cell phone to pay for your hot creamed corn. Just put your pre-loaded phone up to the little pad next to the coin slot.

  • Now in the greater Tokyo area you can also pay for vending machine products with your subway electronic pass smart card. Convenience stores also accept IC smart cards.

  • do they have this in US?

  • Very cool...and very interesting...!

  • ROFL CREAM-CORN!!! and the vending machicne was next to a couple trashcans.....

  • hahah love the video. i live right here in osaka lol never thought of taking videos like yours hehe :P

  • lol...i want 2 know how 2 hack japanese vending machines...i live in japan

  • I don't have a clue. I just pay for the stuff.

  • pay..?? i need to know how 2 to get all da change in the machine....one worker came to collect the money and he used sometype of a code but itb was hard 2 see....

  • The giant neon display at the end was cool. Must cost oodles of money to light up Osaka at night.

  • wow, sugoi. i need to visit japan someday and mingle with the locals.

  • i think i will do that too.

  • Moving to Kansai in a year (Nara to be precise...) and looking forward to visiting Osaka. Been learning a mix of standard nihon-go and some kansai-ben...

  • Awesome, next time I go Japan, I'll definitely check out Osaka.

  • thanks soooooo much for posting!

  • *sigh* one day I'll make it there :)

  • When you do, you have a place to stay and a tour guide.

  • Very generous, thanks :)

  • Milk Tea is Tea brewed in milk instead of water, Not tea with milk. :)

  • Actually, here in Japan you can order milk tea just about everywhere. When you do you get either hot or ice tea with a little thing of creamer. So, thanks for the comment, I must respectfully disagree.

  • lol What is usual for japanese is unusual for people who come from overseas sometime.

  • lol What is usual for japanese is unusual for people who come from overseas sometime.

  • Just returned from Japan and I love the Royal Milk tea as well - lol

  • i'm moving to japan to play for the urawa reds after college.
