  • Babe Ruth was actually said to be more athletic in his prime. The famous image of him came at the end of his career.

  • Mistake was not starting Ford in game 1.

    Well things happened...

  • 50 years ago the Pirates had something to be proud about.

  • 50 years ago the Pirates had something to be proud about.

  • You guys didn't quite recover from that Masacre at "FORBES FIELD BACK IN 1960. Many Yankee Fans forgotten about it, but Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle or Phil Rizuto would remember. Boy, The Pirates beat the "Devil" out of the "Yankees".

    "Forbes Field"

    Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Outfield Home-run Wall still exist today. Go visit the wall "Yankee Fans". "Memories"

"The Thrill Of Victory" "The Agony Of Defeat"

Hey, Get Your Cold "Balantine Beer" Yankee Fans.

    The Bill Mazoroski Homerun.

  • @jkmlight look .sure they won that but thats only 1. and that was 49 years ago. yankees just won their 27th

  • u were not at this game dumbass.

  • wow it's been along time. but i remember being at this game. babe was just a rookie back then.

  • the sulatan of swat, the king of clast, the colassas of clout, the great bambenio

  • dam this is so old...can you say 88 yrs ago.

  • he had a beautiful swing

  • Love the pitcher in that second segment. There are about 20 teams that would sign him right now.

  • THE GREAT BAMBINO!!!

  • The Babe saved baseball after the 1919

    World Series scandal.

  • Babe may not have been the best player, but he was the "greatest" player, for the impact he made. Under that criteria, Wilt Chamberlain is the greatest basketball player and Gordie Howe the same in hockey.

  • Babe Ruth is Baseball. He really was larger than life. I remember when I was a kid my grandmother used to tell me stories about meeting him out and about in Philly in the roaring 20's. Even she spoke about what a character he was. I'd have loved to seen him in person as he really has grown into a mythic figure over the years. I don't believe Barry will be remembered in the same light.

  • the babe will never be forgotten

  • b-roid #25 sucks along with the giants

  • This is just amazing to me. Here is a young and slim babe Ruth. Strong as an Ox and could hit the ball a country mile. So many have a picture of a fat man with spindley legs that could barely move. He had god speed and was a good ball hawk in the OF too. Not to mention he was 94-46 as a pitcher.

  • Gotta love the BABE!!!!!

  • Ruth is still the most famous athlete in American history. He's been dead for nearly 60 years and hasn't played a game in more than 70 yers, but people today still know who he is and what he did.

  • Well put! To me, even more amazing is that there was no formal marketing of Ruth nor agents to provide a professional image. And the money he made was next to nothing

  • Ruth made next to nothing by today's standards, but he made $80,000 in 1927. By contrast, Lou Gehrig only made $7,500 that season.

  • what's up with all color disputes? Babe is absolutely one of the very best and most exceptional player in history of baseball. let's all cut the fucking crap ffs

  • Babe Ruth was the greatest baseball player of all time PERIOD...fuhgetaboutit...for the same reason Jim Brown is the greatest running back even thou all his records have been broken...he's the greatest because of how he towered over the rest of the game...

  • NO STEROIDS!....Barry Who?

  • It is in fast motion, because back then they used hand cranked cameras and had no control over the number of frames per second.

  • this is a good film but why is it like fast motion???

  • how fast do you think the pitchers actually threw back in babe's day? do you think it was the same 80-90s mph fastball as in today's game? I always wondered this.

  • Walter Johnson for instance is said to have thrown approximately 89-91 MPH.

  • that video was cool but you can't spell

  • You guys can argue about black, white, yellow are green! The fact is Babe Ruth was the greatest ball player ever! Not just because of the mind boggling numbers he put up, but the numbers he put up when NOBODY was doing it! He also was a great pitcher! Just imagine how many more Home runs he would have hit if he didn't lose years to pitching! He defently would have hit around 900!!!

  • im gonna have to back you up, he was the greatest, he pitched 5 seasons, imagine he batted those seasons instead lol

easy 1000 never mind 900 lol

  • Babe Ruth played 22 seasons hitting a home run every 11.4 at bats. if he would have batted as many times hank arron batted ruth would have had 1051 home runs. not including home runs that he lost to balls called foul because where they landed. back then they had no foul poleto judge if they left park fair. damn right he is the best he did it when no one else could. he had more home runs then 90% of the other teams combine

  • cont.

Those who say he didn't play against the best(other races) he played against pitchers with era between 1 or 2. i don't care if your purple your not getting any better

  • Babe Ruth was always be known as the greatest Baseball player of all time! This guy was hitting Homeruns when nobody else was! Babe Ruth hit more Homeruns than the entire league combined one year! He was a freak of nature!!! HE WAS THE BEST EVER!!!

  • that is an emotional and opinonated comment .. my opinon is he wasnt.

  • and back to you shit-head...obviously you don't have any real information to back up your weak-ass point so you resort to ghetto-ism...typical

  • who ever said i was black..i didnt say.

  • and you can't spell

  • All of these very ignorant commentaries about race must have been precipitated by the rumors (not new) that The Babe himself was partly of African ancestry. Yes that rumor has been around for some time.

  • i said aaron cuz on other babe ruth videos people accused him of takin steroids..90 percent...that aint 100...the only thing they found in bonds urine sample wuz flax seed oil. no steroids.

  • Your right, the other 10% are white or Asian, Sosa is black, why do you have such a problem with that? The DR was founded by free slaves, yes some major leaguers from the DR are obviously of Spanish decent, like A-Rod or Pedro Martinez, but are you going to tell me David Ortiz isn't black? Go to the Encyclopedia Britannica's article on Sosa from their Guide to BLACK HISTORY.

  • yes u have a point however because they do not have 100% african decent u r not a true black person im not even truly black..political terms yes but naturaly though his blood line no...that is juss how they politcally divide people but he isnt a natural black person even with 90 percent african decent...hell only 1 percent will get u classified as a nigger but thats juss ignorance

  • Pedro Martinez? Obviously of Spanish descent? Hell Pedro Martinez is OBVIOUSLY of African descent...he may not want to talk about it but it's pretty obvious in A-Rod too

  • sosa took steriods..bonds didnt and neither did hank aaron...just face the fact that babe aint the best no more. sosa aint black u idiot.

  • Who said Aaron took steroids? Bonds certainly did and your just blind if you can't see that. Who said Ruth was the best? I was just responding to the moron who said that if black players were around when Ruth played that they would be better than him. Sosa is Dominican, but I wonder if they would have let him play in 1927, he sure looks black to me. According to a study at CUNY about 90% of the contemporary Dominican population has African ancestry or African roots. Look who the idiot is.

  • Sosa IS Black...you're the idiot!...or blind...

  • umm...no. in dominican republic only 11 percent of them is black the rest is hispanic and white..i found this in the times 2007 almanac

  • I don't care what percent of Domicans are supposed to be Black according to some almanac you read...use your eyes boy...what does whatever percent of the Dominican population being whatever have to do with Sammy Sosa...by your logic Barry Bonds isn't black since only 12 percent of the U.S. population is clasified as "Black"...you couldn't possibly be that dumb could you?...again use you eyes young man

  • i was talkin about the statistics on genetics

  • I don't care what you were talkin about...you point was dumb

  • @12inches5

As you were saying about 007?

  • there werent any black ball players back then..they would of killed babe

  • Then how come after blacks came into the majors it took over 20 years for someone to break his all time home run record and black guy didn't break his single season record until 73 years had passed, 1st Sosa then Bonds, and they both had to take steroids and have a longer season to do it, or how about base on balls(78yrs)or slugging pct.(81yrs).Your a dope, do your research before you make uneducated racists statements.

  • Great video clip and I've given you five stars. I've created a video clip featuring Charles Ray and many other 1920's movie stars.

  • Check out how much bigger Ruth was over everyone else around him! He was a monster! No one will top 714 home runs in as fewer ballgames played

  • A rod

  • And when A-Rod hits more HR's than the entire league COMBINED as well as pitches 29 consecutive scoreless innings in the World Series, we can talk.

    No one tops Ruth---no one.
