  • What a GREAT movie !.... Thanks a lot for remember me !

  • Welcome to (cough) Marlboro (cough) Country

  • i think i have given you atlease 100 of you views :)

  • 壮大なテーマ。

  • 壮大なテーマ。

  • But to be honest...,this symphony "singing" in my head since yesterday... :-D

  • @ DaMegaGerman: I really did ask myself, what for that pineapple at 0.05.....?? :-D

  • what's with the pineapple at 0:05 ?

  • How amazing....how talented this song writer!!! Wonderful wonderful song with wonderful amazing conductor!!!! LOVE IT....

  • Would you believe that this is from the same guy who made music for Ghostbusters?

  • Truly, THE iconic piece of Western Movie music...as much as I respect Tiomkin (and his also iconic but less so work for "The Alamo") it's hard to believe this lost the Golden Globe to "Alamo" and Oscar to "Exodus". That's the thing...though lauded throughout his career, Bernstein NEVER won an Oscar for composing (only for adapting the music to "Thoroughly Modern Millie") - a damn, damn shame!

  • I like this movie

  • One of the all time greatest pieces of music ever!

  • WOW! EPIC!!!!

  • All time favorites..

  • Best scene in ANY western: Yul driving the hearse, Steve literally riding "shotgun" and McQueen practically tossing the shell into the barrel. Talk about a scene-stealer!

  • como me dieron ganas ver otra ves esas grandes producciones sobre vaqueros, al oir esta melodia.

  • Why a pineapple ?

  • The great, highly respected - but under-lauded - composer Elmer Bernstein apparently studied for a time under Aaron Copeland...and Copeland's Modernist influence, particularly from "Appalachian Spring" can be felt here. Check out Bernstein's "To Kill a Mockingbird" which contains one of the most wistful themes in movie history, and his last major score, "Far from Heaven" in which he slyly "pastiches" his own earlier work to match Todd Haines ironic directorial archness,

  • @Autostade67 I didn't know about the Copeland connection but you're so right! I could listen to the Mockingbird music non-stop. Brilliant score! Thanks for the info!

  • The best movie and the best song forever ! I love it !

  • Enjoyable childhood movies I loved

  • I'm not a fan of westerns. There are only three westerns I've seen that I really enjoyed: Cat Ballou, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and The Magnificent Seven. True classics!

  • yeahaaaaaaaa come'on baby let's take a ride on my horse.

  • @NICOSIADON I know Ennio Morricone Great composer however this is my favorite theme of all time. Ennio was inspirational for all three of the Clint Eastwood Man with no name trilogy, and my personal favorite of his My name is nobody. This song is Epic in all manner.

  • A Pineaple?

  • @Zombieslayer10191995 2nd best bit after the theme song dude!!

  • Comment removed

  • The Magnificent Seven, America's answer to The Seven Samurai.

  • Good movies pass on generations; this is one of them!!!

  • I´ve seen this movie a lots of times, it´s one of my favourites westerns!. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Marlboro theme as well..

  • agree 1000 % ....takes me right back to my youth and makes my spine tingle 35 years on just like it did then ..thanks for posting this masterpiece ..

  • Woot! no! dislikes! The trolls have yet to find this video. Lets keep it that way eh? :P

  • Magnific movie, magnific music!!!

  • This theme song was a pure stroke of genius! Nothing else comes close! If the sound of this track doesn't send and ru tingles up and down your spine, you must be dead!

  • Fantastic!!! I was hoping to be able to watch the movie today, but can not. This is the next best thing. Thanks for posting this great music.

  • They need to have the lone ranger. Tondo , also an oak house home built with very harry oak

  • clássico!!

  • best music

    from poland

  • I was a freshman in Arellano Manila North High School when this movie was shown in Odeon Theather and runs for almost a month. Tnx for posting it as it remind me of my youth.

  • best western music made

  • THE ULTIMATE WESTERN!!!

  • Steve McQueen was sooo cool and such a great understated actor. To bad he died so young.

  • Gives me such wonderful memories of playing this in my school band.

  • Best of western.

  • Any body know where I can get the full score for this?

  • @particleproductions1 I can't remember for sure, but one of the major publishers has it out. It may be Hal Leonard. I know we got it fr our Muni Band a while back. Although, now that I think about it, it was almost 10 years ago....

  • @particleproductions1 i kno Hal Leonard has a version of this....itz quite costly thou cuz it has alot of parts :)

  • so this is where the marlboro man theme. came from... i don't smoke (...anymore) i like tune it to be remembered as the theme for magnificent seven theme.

  • After listening to an insipid remake on another thread, I had to find the real thing. A great Western needs a great theme, and this is the greatest.

  • This song should play when the Four Horsemen of the Apacolypse come

  • JUST DOSN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS. BEST WESTERN MUSIC EVER WRITTEN

  • @21udt Try listening to the music from The Cowboys sometime. THAT is the best western score ever. This is a VERY close 2nd though :-)

  • @21udt : Yes...this symphony singing in my head since yesterday..... VERY lift up your mood.... and I turn on gain and again.........

  • @21udt No.

  • This for me was the best western ever made, what a group of actors, none better!!!

  • You know this is the movie that should have found a way to insert the saying "you brought two too many" into it's dialogue......

  • Love this theme.

  • Not to mention selling millions of cigarettes!!

  • @buckzx12r: correction quatrillions....

  • Light em folks and lets ride!

  • I need a Marlboro about now...

  • @AcessDBpro GREAT COMMENT! Thanks for reminding me of the "Marlboro Man" commercials!

  • Flat out awesome.

Perfectly captures the rough, heroic and romantic spirit of the West and the men and women who made it such an iconic part of our history.

  • @petruscephas It might be better to say that it captures the rough, heroic and romantic spirit of our mythology of the west. Brilliant music and a brilliant story.

  • @cericj

    Agreed.

This music certainly captures a mythology of the West that has fed us with images of wide open spaces and people living out their lives without the restrictions of the quotidian 9-to-5 lifestyle that unfortunately defines so many of us.

  • brilliant.
