Really neat version; there's almost a hint of Springsteen in the tone on this one. For a band to pull off such a radically different sound from the original and not only not sound forced, but actually produce a hell of a track, is the mark of true musicianship rather than reliance on the mixing board. Kudos to the Killers here.

I wish they would release a slower version like this as a single (or at least a b-side to their next single). I love how when it's stripped and slowed down it allows you to pay more attention to the lyrics, which are so ambiguous and so meaningful on so many different levels. I never respected the Killers in the past as much as I do now.
