I am 61. I was almost 9 when Fidel took over Cuba. During my university years, Che was idolized by many. You never read of his atrocities in school, for some mysterious reason. I read his works and found his thoughts a bit dreamy, so I was suspicious of him then.
Later, as an adult, I worked in Miami for some years and met many Cuban refugees. it struck me then, you never hear of people trying to get into Cuba, only those escaping.
If your primary source of information on Che is the movies, you must realize you are getting a completely distorted view of reality. Movies are made up, you need to understand this. Movies would have you believe JFK was murdered by LBJ. Or we never went to the Moon.
Talk to Cubans who don't live in Cuba any more. Or, ask how life is in Cuba today. What is portrayed as "social justice" by defenders of Che is oppressive poverty.

I am 61. I was almost 9 when Fidel took over Cuba. During my university years, Che was idolized by many. You never read of his atrocities in school, for some mysterious reason. I read his works and found his thoughts a bit dreamy, so I was suspicious of him then.
Later, as an adult, I worked in Miami for some years and met many Cuban refugees. it struck me then, you never hear of people trying to get into Cuba, only those escaping.

The American Revolution was one of the single worst events in the history of the world, don't compare it to what Che strived for.
