  • Susan Boyle! That's my first thought.

  • I remember hearing this on the radio, both as the real song and also a Dicky Goodman record where supposedly he interviewed Richard Dixon...

  • you rule the grand "SHE" :)

  • Sooo hilarious! I haven't heard that song since I was around 7! I used to get annoyed when my dad would sing along to it loudly. Looking back, we should've all seen it as a sign....

  • Not sure if you noticed, but she resembles Helen Reddy..lol

  • What a very different style of video for Varla. I love it, though. In particular, I love the run over scenes and the "Mermanatos'" dancing by Popp's Fountain in City Park. They look like a dancing drill-team. I think Varla wanted to be Belle at Neville High in Monroe or a Golden Girl at LSU in BR.

  • Who stopped at 0:40? Lmao

  • Var, you look a lot like Lynn Redgrave in this!

  • @bearhedded that is SO true, I knew Varla reminded me of someone in this, and you are right, its Lynne Redgrave!!! Thanks for ending my confussion.

  • @mickstery6 No prob!

There's also an automaton I've seen, that resembles her distorted reflection @ 1:38!

  • I loved this song back when i was like 5-6 yrs old. I played it over and over again till finally my sister finally broke the record. Many yrs later, she brought it up about what she did. My reply was, You didn't know? All that time that sonf was being played and dedicated to you, cause you wouldn't leave me alone. She was the mean sister that would irritate me and bully me around.

  • as i said before, this is genius. an amazing talent

  • can someone comment on the song!

  • Homeless people are funny! lol

  • Bloody lovely!!!

  • just love Varla Jean! LMAO LOL

  • Maybe it's all the Tylenol PM I ate for an early breakfast, but this was funny...

  • this is genius

  • I haven't heard this song since Helen Reddy sang it 25-30 yrs ago.

  • fucking brilliant!!

  • Living in Belgium, I have never have the pleasure of being at one of Varla's shows, so cant comment on this being appropriate to be included. But it is bloody brilliant, I wionder if Varla has ever considered singing it herself.

  • SHEER MADNESS! Love it!

  • sheer brilliance

  • that farm boy looks like a real turd , to me

  • no way, that farm boy looks kinda cute. and familiar. where have i seen him?

  • I love how she's supposed to be Little Orphan Annie!

  • Varla please make a video for Barry Manilow's Copacabana! Play Lola!

  • This is one of those songs that you never really realise how sad the lyrics are until you think about them. Like Copacabana.

    Varla Jean luv luv!

  • This is a great video - you are soooo talented. Keep 'em comming, Varla!!

  • Pure undiluted genius! It is the most amazing video and goes perfectly with the song. Helen would be proud. HAHAHHAHAHAH

    5 stars for sure. :)

  • @sim0nstell To bad your mother did it with that pig. Now we have to put up with you........until you drop dead.

  • o dear... o dear... is this good or what?!

  • i love mrs merman... new orleans misses her

  • VARLA JEAN FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!

  • Leave it to some queen's You go girl. LMAO

  • I don't see what's so overly disturbing about this...

  • I loved Helen Reddy while growing up and you have a great sense of humor. Thanks for making me smile.

  • I love Helen to, but it is funny that so many of her songs are about women who "weren't quite right". :)

  • RIGHT. PURE GENIUS. I've had the honor of meeting this person. A WONDERFUL human being who's talent seems limitless! Just give her a tv show and be done with it! ;) Besides, I always loved Helen.

  • I heard this song on XM 70's station, called my sister and asked if she remembered hearing it when we were kids, coming home after a day shopping, in my mothers station wagon. She googled it, found this video, and called to tell me about some drag queen singing it. I am now an urban homosexual and she is an urban power bitch, and seeing this confirms that there is a higher power.

  • ROTFLMFAO

  • this was great!

  • I too was looking for this song and couldnt beleive what i was seeing when i found it. This video is rated 5 stars from me. I cracked up laughing. I sing this song to my kids when they drive me nuts (leave me alone) and for years forgot the name of this song. Finally I find it and what a visual to go along with it, wow. lol Seriuosly, I will gladly show my kids this video while blasting it on the speakers. This is too funny, I need to see more of these. Thanks for sharing!!

  • Holy freakin crap!!! I was looking up this song and saw the video so thought I'd watch while enjoying the song. I swear to god I spit up my coffee onto my keyboard when he rolls down the hill into traffic with HIS panties around his ankles. I laughed all the way to the end and almost threw up.......god that hurt. Yes it was just THAT funny. Thanks for making the vid! :)

  • That is absolutely the funniest thing I've seen on YouTube in months!

  • FANFREAKINTABULOUS!!! Two of my favorite gals rolled itno one... Ms Helen R + Ms Varla Jean... pure heaven! I quite admire the Busby Berkeley style choreography and camera shots, but my favorite touch is the authentic "Big Lots" shopping cart... pure genius.

  • I like it, Yes I do, You are versatile glamorizing clownster

    X Barbie "Q"

  • I love the Busby Berkeley part... Quite sublime!

  • Jeff you gotta put all these out on DVD so people can buy them. One super compilation.

Can't wait for you to come back to PTown at the new place!

    Good luck!

    ..Joey!

  • OMG, now that is funny!!!!

  • I always wondered what happened to Annie.

  • bahahahaaa
