@iwillgrowoneday With dirt jumping, gears aren't really necessary, since you don't pedal a lot but instead pump the jumps with your legs. Front brakes aren't really needed either because you'll flip over if you actually use them. But back brakes are needed to stop in case something goes wrong or to control your speed. Think of it as a bmx bike with a front shock.
