During Shah times there were protests organized by thousands of women to have the right to wear the veil, now they oppose it. The similar situation is going on in Turkey and secular Arab countries where the veil has become as symbol of resistance against their government. Its an act of defiance against the governments agenda. They key is more moderation

You need to understand the veil(covering) that has been asked from you by Islam is for protection of your own values and your very nature. Otherwise, you have the very same rights as Men under Islamic faith. Right to vote, to ownership to happiness and etc... There are Islamic laws that forbids men from doing certain acts and there are those that forbid women from doing certain acts. It is placed as such so your affairs is govrened by Allah and not Men.

saddam was not against the new government of iran, he thought iran had weak military force and lots of resources and saddam was encouraged by the west to attack iran. in other word he wanted take advantage of the iranian's weakness and steel their resources or because he hated the shias.
