Hey rotorhead...I'm a hangar row behind you. We've got the green Starduster with the hornet on the cowl. I knew I recognized everything...rain notwithstanding. Put a tailwheel on that beast, and I'll come fly it with you. :-)
1)overcame the illusion of 'being high' w/rain on windscreen
2)stayed above VASI glide 'path' (if using)as is required @Towered airports unless bracketing which btw he shouldn't be(and isn't)doing, that late in the game...OR,most importantly...
3)**he knows that about 338'agl tower that is exactly 315'below the glide slope about 1.9nm from the TDZE, making a 4.5dot deflection below glide slope DEADLY!!given the 3 degree GS, 4.5dots@1.9nm=315'low,=impact,+fall another 338' to ground.(and needs to be right of localizer.) Notice his climb started when autopilot came off(ding)and began hand-flying.
Very nice landing. Would have loved to seen the instrumentation. You looked a littly high on your approach based on the VASI on the left of the runway
All that rain can't be good for the prop.

I can't wait til I start flying IFR...that's what separates the men from the boys - breaking outta cloud @ 200 or 100 ft a-mazing!!

So what if you looked out the window and saw William Shatner trying to pull up the engine Cowling?
I'd scream.

I flew into LVK at night 3SM visibility and moderate rain! It was tough. You did a good job too. Thank god for ILS!

nice. in his defense on being high, he:
1)overcame the illusion of 'being high' w/rain on windscreen
2)stayed above VASI glide 'path' (if using)as is required @Towered airports unless bracketing which btw he shouldn't be(and isn't)doing, that late in the game...OR,most importantly...

BTW denelson83, you're right...SOME VASI's don't coincide w/ILS glideslope angle. ie KSFO:ILS 19L=2.95deg., 19L PAPI=3degrees!

hey was this into LVK?

Yes it was. KLVK

Remember, VASI's are used for *visual* approaches. They sometimes have different glide paths than those used for instrument approaches.

To BeechSundowner: The glideslope and VASI are not always at the same slope...

Were you using a coupled approach with the Autopilot on this video? Which A/P?
