You cant judge Hughes based on his last couple fights. He lost to Alves (but he took the fight on short notice and was recovering from knee surgery). I think Alves is going to manhandle GSP. In the Serra fight.....he got headbutted early and was woozy the whole fight. Has Hughes lost some explosiveness? Definitely.....hes not in his prime anymore but can beat any welterweights except GSP and Alves.

To some extent I can see why Serra has a problem with Hughes, but in being so vocal about it, he proved he's no better. Matt seems the kind of guy who jokes around a lot (off camera) and feels comfortable doing it. In doing it with guys who he doesn't know as well or with guys he'd beat, maybe it comes off as cocky or arrogant.
