This is awesome! The "Swedish" sounds more like Yiddish though. (Or maybe a cross between English and German, with Slavic suffixes and a hint of Swedish prosody...)
My mom saw this as a freshman in college, at the end of a short course on Bergman. She and her friends realized it was a parody pretty quickly and started cracking up, but some of the seniors in the audience who hadn't taken the class looked like they were ready to kill them for laughing at a "serious film."
They used to show this at the old TLA (art house) cinema on South Street in the '60s, often between the films at Bergman double features. Haven't seen it since. Still funny.
I saw this film in 1968 as a short when I saw The Graduate. I thought I was understanding Swedish! Ever since, I have viewed Bergman through the eyes of this parody.
Oh, thank you, thank you, for posting this. I've been missing it for 40 years since it was filler on the early cable movie channels along with Fishheads and Pork Lips Now. I can cocktail party chat with the best of them about Bergman and I'm Swedish heritage but this is priceless!
I've been looking for this film for years. I saw it in the early 70's at the Fox Venice theater in Venice CA. They played lots of artsy and bizarre films. Next I want to find Macunaima and The Schlock.
I have actually tried to describe this short movie to people and yes I saw this in junior high school too when I was impressionable (hahahaha) well I think it made more than an impression. It steered me in the direction of a very dark sense of humor THANK GOODNESS. I am so happy to have found this.

Thank you for putting this on YouTube! I had seen it in 1968 when I was in junior high, and I remember the whole audience cracking up. Very enjoyable.
Thanks so much for posting this. Unfortunately I first saw this when I was very young and since then seeing many Bergman films for the first time I would laugh out loud at very inappropriate places.
Thank you for posting this! I haven't seen it since I was a kid, but something just made me say to my wife "de duva cochen" and I went to YouTube immediately! Here it is!
Bravo-sky!

The mock-Swedish dialogue is a hoot -- laced with freshman Latin and Yiddish!

Hilarious. I just watched both those Ingmar films for a group I'm in, and this parody of both really hit the spot. Thanks for putting this up here.

Just saw this in my college Film Studies class, right after watching The Seventh Seal. It's way funnier if you've seen Bergman's Seventh Seal.
