I believe they have something in this video that flashes by so fast you can see it in your head, Drink pepsi, Drink Pepsi. I always want to go out and buy a Pepsi. I took a course in Psychology last year and our teacher told us they had subliminal messages at a movie, It said drink Pepsi, eat popcorn, everyone went to the snack bar and bought Pepsi ans popcorn.
@Sheri451 The only place you see "Drink Pepsi" is at the end of the clip on the 'vending button'. If you are seeing "Drink Pepsi" flashing in your head, then you should lay off the bong.
@Sheri451 who was your teacher, any respectable psychologist would know that subliminal messages can only convey a slight change in emotion for a very short time. P.S. I like turtles. P.P.S. GO TROLLS!!!!!!!!!!
@rmdoucet123 Her name is Lori Metcalf. She's been in children and adult mental health facilities since college. They really did do a subliminal message in a movie theater in the 1970s, the subliminal message really did say Drink Pepsi, people went to the lobby and bought Pepsi, later on it said eat popcorn, the people went back and bought popcorn. This woman is a very smart lady, she's really too smatrt to be teaching in my opinion. She had clients with Multiple Personality and is familiar
Joan Crawfords husband, Alfred Steele, the boss of Pepsi Cola came up with these commercials with the idea of grabbing the baby boomers. He succeeded brilliantly and Coca Cola suddenly had a real competitior on their hands.
Pepsi's radio/TV vocalist during the '60s was indeed Joanie Sommers, "The Pepsi Girl" (she had at least one Top 10 hit, "Johnny Get Angry", in 1962), who also appeared on TV variety shows and in stage and nightclub appearances. "You're In the Pepsi Generation" was used between 1963 and '67, when it was succeeded by the "Taste That Beats the Others Cold- Pepsi Pours It On!" campaign [without Joanie].
@fromthesidelines She also sang the song "There's Always Tomorrow" in the animated holiday classic "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer", and played the character of Rudolph's girlfriend Clarice in it as well.
I remember "fountain" Pepsi (and Coke, for that matter) from the drugstore. I've never experienced a better taste than that...or maybe it was b/c I was so young then (as compared to now). Now I drink cheap diet cola with no advertising at all. :-|
@horndiapason The reason they tasted like that at the fountain was because of the mix that the fountains had. It was Pepsi or Coke syrup mixed with water with a high concentrate of CO2. Modern sodas and fountain syrups have a high fructose corn syrup base, and it does alter the flavor quite a bit from what you remember. Sorry to play "Mr. Wizard", just attempting to clarify.
While i didn't have a favorite between Pepsi and Coke back then, i will say that they both tasted better back then when they were in the bottles. Now everything is all messed up!
They screwed up all soft drinks in America by switching to high fructose corn syrup, you can still find natural sugar Pepsi "throwback" or passover Pepsi sometimes, much better.
Please let me know where. I would definately appreciate it. And you're right everything today is made of fructose which was one of the reason I quit drinking soft drinks.
@reneecalling Earliere this year, they cme out with Throwback Pepsi's they were in the old red white and blue circle with the white can, they had sugar in them, I don't lnow if you can still find them anymore though, maybe some convienience stores still have them.

@DontTread0nMe1776 As well as 'throwback" Mountain Dew...some stores even sell Coke and Fanta imported from Mexico, which are made with sugar.

@tomservo56954 I wonder if anyone ever got "Montezuma's revenge" from Mexican Coke? At least their water isn't fluoridated.

Yea I know! I hate the new logo they just came out with! it looks like something designed by a mac user.
Coke has used the same logo since the very beginning.
