yeah, its not just you it happen in every halo 3, its a glitch, but dont worry, bungiw says that its just to adjust the armor, its necesary in the game :)

i think its cause the console has to retrieve the permutation from your saved data.

Hmmm..... A glitch like this affects me all the time, When i go to change an armor it will just for a second blink my helmet to Mark VI unless I turn on C.Q.B.

agreed, he got 4 and 6 backwards (4 = IV, 6 = VI) Mark IV was only used on Harvest and Reach

that happens cuz the game is just like that if u have xbl or not thats gonna happen and sometimes itll show ur armor in the settings but on ur service record and games itll stay on mark 6 for a pretty long time

its because the armour you selected was earned on xbox live, because I have a xbox live account and a offline account and I've got all the skulls on both of them and the it does not happen to the offline account.
