actually, you're meant to power the meter up to 2/3 or 3/4 when taking long shots. 1/3 of the meter is too low and not powerful enough to beat the keeper!

LISTEN:

18-30 yards use 2/3 power

30-45+ yards use 3/4 power or slightly more!
